Hi, yet again another noobish CCW question I'm afraid, but coming back to 40K from 2nd ed and over ten years would be my excuse!
If a model has a bolt pistol and a chainsword, he gets +1 for CCW weapons, does he get +1 for CCW weapon if he has a bolter (or suitable non- CCW) and a chainsword?
Cheers
Andy

No, a bolter is not a one-handed CCW.
You are correct about the BP/CCW though

Hi
Cheers for the quick reply, I was wondering if the chainsword gets the +1 to CC? I understand the bolter wouldn't.

The +1A is for 2 CCW (the chainsword and the BP - which counts as a CCW in CC), the Bolter isnt a CCW so just having the CHainsword isnt enough im afraid. And no problem, always happy to help, welcome back to the hobby btw!

Nope - you need 2 one handed CC weapons to get a bonus. However models with a power fist or power weapon dont get this bonus.

unless they have 2 of said special CCW (and therefore give the +1A bonus for having 2 SCCWs)
EDIT: the 2 SCCW rule is for Power Fists, Thunderhammers etc. Power Swords DO get +1A if wielded with another one-handed CCW (and they all count as Power Weapon attacks)

Uhm....Grey Hunters come with Bolter, CCW, and BP as standard equipment. They always get the +1 attack for 2 CCW unless equipped with a Power Fist or Mark of the Wulfen.

There's no need to start another thread, so I'll just throw it here:
The Eversor Assassin (in the GK codex) has a Neuro Gauntlet that "counts as a lightning claw." So he *doesn't* get the +1 attack for having two ccws, correct?

1) Power weapons DO get a bonus attack for CCW + Power weapon, as long as that other CCW is not a special CCW (such as a powerfist, or similar)
2) As above: GH have all three - bolter, BP and Chainsword, so always get the +1A

+1 what he said. This also means that you can equip a special weapon on them and not lose your +1 CC attack.

Related question: An Inqisitor from the Grey Knight book can take a force sword. If he retains his Bolt pistol, does he gain the extra attack (from it acting as a regular power weapon when not activated, aka power sword) or is it a special ccw (aka power fist status that needs 2)

You're confusing your terminology a little. Force weapons and power weapons are both Special CCWs, as are power fists. Power fists, lightning claws and thunder hammers have to be wielded in pairs. Other Special CCWs grant the +1 attack just fine, so long as the model doesn't have two different Special CCWs.
So yes, the Inquisitor would gain the bonus attack.

Addendum added to last sentence, which is otherwise correct: So yes, the Inquisitor would gain the bonus attack; provided he does not purchase a second, different Special CCW(Power sword,NDaemon hammer, Daemonblade, etc).

So, in other words, my answer was correct for the question actually being asked.

So if the GH in question had MotW and their standard loadout (BP/CCW/Bolter) on the charge would they get D6+1(MotW) +1(BP/CCW) +1(for the charge)? Edit: checked the codex and it says they wouldn't get the +1 for the BP/CCW since the MotW attacks are made with "claws and teeth" >.< answered my own question.

Nah I was meaning you'd be better off putting MotW onto a model without the CCW bonus! I know that MotW is utterly fantastic with rending hits!!! I use it every time I can!

There are no units in Codex Space Wolves that can take the Mark of the Wulfen that does not already come with two close combat weapons or has the option to purchase them. The Mark is still a good purchase if you have the free points even though you would no longer get the bonus for two close combat weapons.

One of my Favorite HQs:
Wolf guard Battle leader
bolt Pistol
Storm Shield
Wolf tooth Necklace
Mark of the Wulfen
Saga of the warrior born
Wolf tail Talisman
Total Cost: 165 points
3++ Invul Save, D6+1 Attacks(D6+2 when he charges, or 83.33% of the times he is charged), always hits on a 3+ in CC, and he generates bonus attacks in the next combat equal to the number of enemies killed
