I've got a tourney coming up soon for 1000 points and I'm not really sure which way I should go with BA for it. I made these two lists quickly and I didn't really feel like a LRC or a Stormraven at 1000 points would be worth it so I went with DoA and some Razorspam esque lists. Out of these two which would be better and any suggestions on either list would be appreciated since once I have the models I'll definitely stop playing DoA so much and get used to Mechanized. Any help is appreciated

List 1: DoA

I would go with the DoA list, but that's just personal preference

I like the Razorspam list, it's pretty similar to what I run at 1000. I choose to drop the fourth Assault Squad and the Baals to take 3 Dakka Predators instead, and give the remaining Assault squads some special weapons. In fact, I'd consider trading the Priest for Meltaguns for each Assault Squad and Dozer Blades for the Baals. Depends on what you expect to face.

That's not a bad idea with the Predators since it gives you 3 Predators on the board and it becomes a little tougher to deal with the list. If I can get the models quickly I'll give your suggestions a try especially since at the moment I lack a 2nd Baal Predator.

MrE hit the nail on the head, IMHO the more AV 13 you have at lower point games the better. Most opponents will have a few high AP weapons but your Razor Squads should be able to take care or that pretty effectively.

Personally I would go with list 1 because I like messing around with jp guys always good times competitively list 2 would be better but um maybe a whirlwind or a vindi for crowd control.

Generally, I think that a mech BA list is more competitive than a DoA list.
The mech style is better at the all-comers level. DoA has its weaknesses especially vs MC armies, armies geared towards cc, or IG.

That is very true but after a few games it gets boring :( and thats when the game stops being fun.

But over all yes they do better.

I personally don't find mechanized lists to be boring, but with everyone's suggestions this is what I'm thinking of doing since its the most cost effective way for me to go about this. If I could I'd try going with 3 Predators since so much armor on the board at 1000 points is rather intimidating, but my wallet is stretched at the moment.
