I know its lite on things like Unleash Rage and Shield. Im thinking that the Ravens can use their speed to get the save and the Assault Marines can use the dreadnaughts to do the same.

DC already hit on 3's most of the time and the Termies are being bolstered by the Priest.

Should work. I like more TH&SS in my terminators, but LC are nasty with FC from the priest.

You need to be cautious in games when you're not going first. May be well worth starting the ravens in reserve so your opponent doesn't get to shoot at them without a cover save. While this means having a lot of points off the table for the first couple of turns, your opponent has a limited ability to take advantage of it, since you have a pretty long move + disembark + assault threat range from the table edge. If he hangs back on his side, you can still jet 24" when you arrive, moving on along one edge if necessary to reduce the number of guns which have range to the raven. Between the 24" move and another 12" move + disembark + assault, you should be able to get a good charge or two whenever the ravens do show up.

At least, that's the theory I've formed based playing against them. I'm looking forward to trying it myself at some point with my new BA.

Thats what I was thinking - youre right about needing more Hammers though. Trying to free up a mere 5 points though - uggg

Right now this is all theory. I have the models (in boxes) but they're all in the basement. Im down in Indiana training to go over to Afghanistan. Actually playing it will have to wait till I return.

Easy way to get points is to swap one of the AM sgts to a power weapon or lightning claw (either one is 15) instead of a fist. That gives you 10pts for two more hammer/SS termies.

Well I wouldn't drop the pf tried it once got me in trouble suggestion.

All assault squads have a flamer and a melta and a pf meanin you get 5 more points so another th ss termie.

Personally I would like to run 5 termies 3 lcs 2 th ss a termie lib and a termie priest lib with rage and shield in a crusader.
Hehe amazing fun bu dig the ravens

I agree with cowpow, go with one melta and a flamer per unit, hold the SR's if you don't get first turn/seize the initiative, and add the TH/SS termies.

Libby in Terminator Armour w/ SS is pretty brutal, especially with UR. Re-rolls on hits and wounds with the LC termies is great.

Maybe drop the EA on the SR's and add 2 PW's to the DC.

Melta/flamer is iffy. Both get better/more reliable in pairs.

Extra Armor is well worth it on a vehicle the price of a SR.

Okay, you'll mount the cc units and the Dreads into the Ravens.
Then you'll have 30 AM at the board.
But the army lacks cover fire preventing enemy units to shoot the Ravens while they approach the enemy front ranks.

Well, the beauty of the Stormraven is that it can cross the battlefield so quickly that it doesn't need much covering fire. The enemy has one turn to stop them, and then they drop doom on top of him. This is why they must be taken in multiples, to maximize the probability that at least one makes it.

Stopping two Ravens?
I play mech Eldar with Serpents and I know how easy it seems to be sometimes to take down one or two Serpent a turn.

Maybe for added insurance against having the Ravens dropped, I should put units like jump infantry and death company or librarian dread. All these units can move more than 6 inches a turn. This way, even if their ride is destroyed, they can still chase things down.

An excellent way to keep your Stormravens in the air is to have a Vanguard unit or two for tying up or taking out enemy shooters as they approach. The Vanguards can drop in and assault a shooty unit or pop a tank (or both depending on your enemy deployment) while the Ravens are pushing forward. You have to drop some points on the Vanguards for sure but you are getting more than a statline and cool gear when you can keep 800+ points of your stuff from being shot for a turn.
