I just realized that I could have saved thousands, if i had just used epic models for 40k... I know the models dont look half as good, but you could easily scale down blast templates and use the same rules as 40k, while saveing so much money. You could spend 100 bucks on a 100,000 point army for cripes sake! Im wondering if anyone else has ever thought of doing this?

Modeling for advantage?
Cover would be easy to get and we already have too much of that or too little depending on who you talk to...

If you scale the terrain and everything back it could work.....but then it would just be epic 40k.....so yes it's possible and it's called epic 40k....

Yeah but Epic rules are crap. Plus you could move units some much faster!

It's irrelevant, because Epic rules are scaled for Epic models.

40k rules are scaled for 40k models.

They're two separate games, and expect lots of opposition to using Epic models for 40k.

So basically...
You want to play normal 40k but with much smaller, cheaper and less detailed models?

I wouldnt play epic scale vs 40k scale. My friend and I want to do this. So it would be same scale.

So you both want to play 40k...with Epic scale models?

Why?

Why bother?
Cover would be far too easy to get.
You would end up playig either Orks or IG, not that that is a bad thing but that is all you would be playing...

But... but why?! Epic is everything Apoc is, but better! You get the same feeling of commanding a true army, without the tedious amounts of time, the absolutely massive money investment, and Epic allows for actual tactics instead of throwing as many points at each other as possible.

I will admit, however, from your signature, it is clear that you have been collecting for - what seems to me - a very long time. 10960 points of Salamanders? I bow to you, sir, as I have just started to repaint my measly amount of marines as such.

Well my only source of income is birthdays and xmas, so i have no idea how i have this much.... Ive gone through orks, then tau, then old gk, then nids, then ig, and now sm and gk.....
Well epic isnt so bad that i wont play it, I guess i enjoy looking at beautifully painted armies clashing in massive tables of awsomeness.
