So what do I do with my aobr marines?
Should I buy a few more and make a codex marine army or don't waste my money and leave them and buy more GK or the newly released DE??
Also if I were to make an army 750 points, what is a competitive list I can build
All I can think of is:
The abobr commander
10x marines
1x rocket
1xflamer
Rhino
10x marines
1x rocket
1xflamer
Rhino
dreadnough 2xTL auto
dreadnough 2xTL auto
I don't have a marine codex yet so All i can do is base on my gk army.

Trust me; you need a codex first! But a competitive list my friend made based on the AoBR Set: Captain: Power sword x2 terminator squads: Stormbolters x5 Tactical squads: Flamer, Missile launcher for each. 1 Scout squad, with Sgt. Tellion 1 Devastator squad Hope this has helped

You can always try to sell them if you don't want them. They won't run for the same as their boxed counterpart, due to lack of customization options (both in posing the model and weapon options.)

If you don't make an army from them and instead move onto a non-Imperial army you could always use them as trophies...

Black reach makes a nice starter, and it's what I used as a base for my army. You can get a good sized force out of it and a battle force. An example would be
HQ:
Captain, Artificer armor relic blade
Command Squad (Kitted out as you see fit though the options in the BF box will give you a semi decent CC unit)
Troops:
10 man Tac FL, ML
10 man Tac MG, ML, Rhino
5 man scouts CCW/BP sarge with Fist (May need to find a guard player for the fist)
Fast Attack
5man Assault Squad Sarge with Fist and PP
Elites:
Dread MM/DCCW
5 man terminator with SB and Chain fist (Cut up a chainsword with some green stuff and BAM)
It's not competitive but it can give you a good idea on what the codex's strenghts and weaknesses are.

1) Play some games at your local store and wait for some kid to buy an AOBR box. Offer to trade the marines for his orks.
2) Give them to a friend who doesn't play yet, get them into the game.
3) Loot everything for ork conversions.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

If you haven't painted, they'll run for the same amount. AoBR is the very definition of WYSIWYG, with every marine in static "bolter-ready" stance, a single flamer and a single ML, no weapon customization, no customization at all. It's an excellent jumping off point, with some very nice models, but the total lack of customization makes me prefer battleforces.

I ended up workign on making them into a black templar army with the space marines captain turning into my champion.
they are pretty standard marines but with a black templar spru they turned out pretty good. if you wanted a ultramarins salamander or white scar marines set they're a great jumping off point, or as stated they make a good trade item / sell well

I don't know if I want to sell them because I don't need the money, I am gonna collect marines one day, basicly I wanna make a 750 point army for each army.
So my idea are:
pro paint them and display them or sell them, (my friend pro paint stuff and promised to paint all my for free)
buy another set of Aobr marines or just more tac marines
use them as my warrior acolyte because I am making one of them as well.
Are marines competitive?
Yes? No? Above average? Below average or just average.

If you have no better use for them.... Melt their bodies and stick their bubbling torsos onto your rhinos.... That's assuming you're a chaos player, of course

I don't think £25 for them is worth the trouble. I do like a variation to my normal GK ownage (not always) lol. Not many people in my local GW shop play competitively so My purifier list is just that tad better than the fluff list most people play Automatically Appended Next Post: Samus_aran115 wrote:If you have no better use for them.... I don't play chaos but i can always turn them into noise marines (that is the correct name right?) Automatically Appended Next Post: MaximusPrime wrote:Trust me; you need a codex first!

That is a little basic, I am prepared to get a few rhinos and land speeders into my list but just get the abor marines and termis to build my list. so what is your suggestion on that?
