I have the Doom board game and its expansion. Its a very tough game. Heavily stacked in favor of the demons if there is only a single marine player. Id recommend 2 or even 3 marines to even it up.

I'll believe it when the boxes are on the shelf. This thing's been on the "coming soon" page for over a year (closer to two actually). Figs are kinda cool, the price point though, not so much (it's not bad but do I really need another big box game I won't get to play?)

Yeah, the deal was announced when only the first game was out and all the promo pics show concept art from *BEFORE* the first game (they're in the art book I have). No pics at all from either the sequel that came out almost two years ago or even the third title thats out in a few months. I guess their licensing only covered images from the first. While I've enjoyed plenty of FFG board game products, i'll wait until closeups of the minis come out before making my decision to buy or not. I suspect I'll get more use out of the contents in an RPG or minis game fashion than the actual board game (if the quality is nice). Descent quality = buy.

I saw the game announced on FFG earlier when I was looking at Warhammer: Invasion stuff earlier, and sadly I was never a big GoW player, but this did look cool. How much is it supposed to be retailing for? Lazy, figured I'd ask since people are getting happy about it here, and thought it might contribute to more conversation than just checking google.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

In all seriousness, this is pretty cool. Gears of War would make a sweet tabletop game. Too bad the setting is so limiting in what you could do with it.

If they are the same size as the minis in the Doom game, they will be a bit too small. Not a huge difference, but enough to be noticeable next to the GW figures.
