Hi all,

I was planning to start a new Ork army for 40k, but in light of the current GW situation I was wondering if there was another source for Space Orks. Quality is high on my list then price.

I love the GW Orks and don't have a bad word to say about them, except mega nobs and dreads are way over priced, but I don't want to get into that discussion here, as I'm sure there is a post knocking around here somewhere which deals with this matter

Many regards

Madmick

If you look at Kromlech, there are some bitz add ons that can be used for Orks.

Mantic have released fantasy orcs which are pretty decent, but I am not sure how easy they will be to convert into futuristic versions.

However recent rumours suggest a new sci fi range from them, possibly some of their new stuff will include space orks.
Hasslefree have some sci fi goblins:

Do they have to be Orks? I mean, do they have to look Orkoid? If you're willing to go a different route (post apocalyptic mutants?) you might have many more options.

Alternatively, there's always buying from Ebay if you don't want to give GW money directly.

Yes.

The source is getting them from the Sell and trade on Dakka. At least then you won't get boned in picking up a basic set and the snacks.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

The Mantic Games fantasy Orcs are amazing!!!! think they wipe the floor with GW tbh. however would prefer space orcs if poss.

Kromlech make nice ones. Prob best suited to my needs tbh, but you need to buy componants seperatly which would cost a small fortune by the time a 2k army is together and shipped from US :(

Not to keen on Hassle free minis :( look like they are sculpted from bubblegum, hehe

Thanks for speedy response though mate really appreciate it /hugs

OK, after some sleep I'm pretty sure Mantic is the way forward

think i'll go down the evil side using dwarfs as Abyssal dwarfs as I hate metal. Also the Abyssal dwarfs use orks!!! and the undead are pleasant on the eye, in a weird sorta way

I have seen some photos of the Mantic figure cases. Like a big black back pack. Anyone got a link to where these may be procured?

Thanks

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.
