I feel sorry for Games Workshop sometimes...
And pretty much any company that have to deal with geeks in general.
No other industry (The geek industry that is) has such a militant customer base.
We sit and complain about them whilst they work and try to please us and then we call them names for not doing things right...
There are things they could do to help with it i suppose but... i doubt it would change everything all that much.

Please. They've got a 75% profit margin. They're making money hand over fist, and can't be bothered to help us out? They drasticially cut costs on production by switching to plastic, then raise prices by 25% _and_ make it impossible for anyone outside of the EU to get a cheaper product legally? without having to resort to some interesting means anyways. I have no pity for them as they are forcing people away from them, including me. I only just got into the hobby after 15 years of not being able to afford it, now i'm not going to be able to afford it again due to their heavy handed price gouging tactics.
I will be signing this, as well as doing some probably pointless complaining via phone and snailmail.
As well, you might want to link this article into the page if you haven't done so yet. Gives some good advice on how to proceed and well written. http://theeternalwarriors.com/?p=1194

Well, I can't say I'm happy about the price hike. I don't think any consumer has ever been happy about prices going up.

But, I can still afford the hobby comfortably despite the increased prices, especially since it doesn't seem to be a 25% increase on everything. I'm glad I broke my silly hobby spending habits from last year, though, or my wallet would still be hurting.

I was planning on saving a comfortable amount in anticipation of whenever the plastic Sisters of Battle minis are released anyways. ^^

Great, the one thing I hate : spending money.
I'd be less annoyed if GW was going bust, but 75% profit margins? I bet Matt Ward is behind all this...

If they keep this up certain members are going to have to turn to prostitution just to keep up. ... no pun intended...

The models are stupidly overpriced as is.
The last thing loyal (mostly) wargamers need is GW trying to squeeze every last bit of money out of us.
Its not sustainable. For them OR us.

I've always been dissapointed with those ridiculously high prices, since the fihures are just a bit of plastic, metal and/ot resin that is produced in seconds and massively; it's too expensive for what it is.
And now they want to raise the prices even more? -.-

I don't know where this 75% profit margin is coming from (probably the depth of someone's nerdraging ass), but they make less than 20 cents on the dollar. Which is still amazing in the grand scheme of things, but it's hardly 75%.

Not going to work... most gamers are fat and disgusting. People that usually would have to pay for sex anyway are unlikely to make much money charging for it.

There's always someone who thinks you're sexy finding them and convincing them to pay you is the hard part...

Given their market, the economy, their product and their competition in hobbies these days, a price hike is poor decision at best imo.

Selling me a product that is already perhaps too high ($35.00 U.S.) isn't going to make me want it anymore with a 25% hike. If they want to get some growth they need to lower prices for a special event and find a way to cut costs on plastic toy model kits that isn't damaging to the existing lines appearance.

GW's problems are the result of really poor management on a myriad of levels. Why are there 2nd Edition Codexes in 5th Edition as we approach 6th Edition? Why do they spend time waging lawsuit battles against fan run websites? Why do they have an issue with IP infringement on fanmade movies when they don't even bother to spend money on any type of advertisement, yet rely on word of mouth...?

The only reason GW has survived so long is because they catered to a crowd of us geeks that liked the playground they made. If they want to continue making money they better have a fiscal plan worth a crap in the coming years, backed by a revised strategy on new product release.

Hiking prices based on strong currency that represents a portion, even if it is a large portion of your market is dumb.

"AM are bunch of half human-half robot monkeys who keep tech working by punching it with a wrench And their tech is so sophisticated that you could never get it wrapped it out" thing a LITTLE to seriously. It also goes "Tau tech is so awesome I wish I was Tau and not some stupid Human" thing.
