I want to know your luckiest rolls what did they accomplish my tale is sad one for an unfortunate space marine player

I had begun 40k and started out with the aobr marine half
My intentional army was ba since I had made them my first army before I left the hobby and wanted to pick up again after the codex came out

So I had collected an army of 2000 pts already and decided to play against a Sm player that spamed his troops with dps
Not that there's anything wrong with that but it got alittle annoying when half your troops disapper turn one
Anyways I had a dreadnought with a mm and ccw nothing special
His land raider is in it's sights and fires away
Before I know it hits gladly
I measure out and get the Melta d6 barely ( awesome)
I roll and explode his land raider (even better... Wait it gets better)
Then his precious Terminators are inside of course and take hits
3 of them fail and are removed
The face he made was priceless
the dreadnought is kept as a trophy although I don't use him anymore to show how awesome his acts were

I almost killed Skarbrand in close combat with Firewarriors. Almost being the key word here. But this was still enough to make the Daemon player tell me he mentally gakk'd his pants, to which in turn, made my day

I managed to nail a Hive Tyrant, both of his Hive Guard, a Zoenthrope, the Doom of Malantai and a single Carnifex with JotWW. Luckiest series of rolls (for me) i have ever seen.

had a game where the Master of Ordanance never missed his targets in five rounds. always rolled a three or four with the target "hitting".

Necron squad of warriors on the edge of the board, in front of them deepstrikes a unit of Sanguinary Guard with a special named character. If these warriors are attacked and run down I will phase out so the stakes are high on my end, the BA player was confident that he could easily win this by the next turn, turn 4. It comes to my turn and try as I can, nothing is close enough to have a chance at assaulting the unit to tie it up, so rapid fire I do. All of the guard fail their 2+ saves and the named man is down by only one wound, still a threat however. My Nightbringer happened to be within a 2 Ft. range and so fired off his special Scythe gun and manages to ID the character, saving my warriors from certain death and myself of loss. Ended up winning in the end of the whole ordeal

Playing against Dark Angels Deathwing with my CSM. Post-faq, so they actually get storm shields and all.

Second turn, a squad of 5 termies drops near a secluded objective. On my shooting phase, two obliterators overlooking the center of the map toss two plasma cannon shots their way. Both score direct bullseyes, meaning 10 S7 Ap2 hits bypassing regular armor. They all fail at least one inv save and the whole unit is wiped out before doing anything and leaving half the map in my hands.

Though to be fair he also lucked out insta-killing both those oblits next turn with just 2 krak missiles, as I rolled double 1's on their 2+ saves.....

This wasnt for me, but my friend was playing Tau and I tried to assault him with my Stealers, and he was 8 inches away. I roll to run and I get a . My poor stealers got obliterated next turn... but it was lucky on his part.

Best dice rolls i ever had was my DA vs IG.
A tactical squad sarg w/powersword manged to kill 9 penal legionaires over 4 rounds of combat all by himself. The rest of his squad was killed by a salvo from a LR punisher (who knew 20 s5 ap- shot could kill marines... ). The penal legionaires had the knifefighters rule too. Everyone watching, including my opponent voted him man of the match.

The best roll i ever saw though was at a FLGS tourny. This guys marine army got wiped out by the second turn due to his opponents sneaky genestealers/lictors. He quite literaly has one singular marine with a bolter left, its his last thing on the table. He rapid fires on the closest thing which happens to be a carnifex, double 4's, double 6's, the fex rolls 6's for Sv. Wounds it twice. Next turn rapid fires again doubel 5's, double 6's and the fex rols 6's again for Sv. Kills the the fex then gets overwhelmed by hormoguants. Greatest match ever.

I have another fortunately

I was playing a CSM mech player at 2000
And i was playing with a doa list that I managed to put together in 5 min
He stacked up on any armor he had that included 3 defilers, 2 dreadnoughts, and 2 rhinos with plague marines and zerkers followed by a dp with wings and a mark with warptime
So my list wasnt the best but it competed I don't know how but did
In my list I had taken a terminator librarian followed by a squad of regualar Terminators (I'm not sure why don't ask)
He made his points back a 10 fold by getting a lucky and suicidal ds next to his line of mech And fired off a blood lance
That lance went through all three defilers and hit 1 dreadnought
The following happened: defiler went boom, defiler went boom, defiler went wreck, dreadnought went WTF then stopped his tracks from a immobilized roll
He couldn't believe how much damage it had done
We then played casualy after that and turned out to become a draw
A nice guy shameful what happened to his ordnance line but brownie points were given to me for that one

turn 5 anialation all thats left of my orks is one big mek with SAG 10 or so grots and a ruthturn before I had deff rolled a land raider for an explode the BW was empty and the ors inside were long gone the sm that finished them had died to the SAG the turn before as well

4 terminators attempt to assault my big mek and grechin but are about 1/2 an in ch to short to make the assault.

i choose to hope for a good SAG roll as opposed to charging him and boom boxcars then a scare scatter dice towards my own orks... snake eyes distance so stays still removes the remaining terminators and my big mek gets to start salvaging some SM vehicles and power armor

My squad of 9 orks plus PK Nob killed a Carnifex. The Carni had dual crush claws and ended up with 10 attacks, hit with all but 2, and rolled all 1's to wound. And the carnifex had the charge.

This actually happened just the other day.

My friend wanted to test out an Eldar Jetbike army. I sure enough let him use my eldar models, and he thought it would be hilarious if he proxied up two full fledged eldar seer councils (20 warlocks, two farseers). All in all, it was about 1400 points just in HQ choices.

To be a complete dick, I decided to counter his deathstars with one of my own, running my Helbrecht black templar army. So he nails my land raider with a lucky singing spear from his first squad. Second squad opens up with the destructors and catapults. Thanks to lousy wound allocation, my apothecary dies, and I lose FnP. So here I am thinking "Well, I'm screwed now" as he assaults me. I manage to kill of one warlock, he takes out nine of my guys (on top of the three I lost from his shooting), No retreat puts a wound on Helbrecht, a wound on my Reclusiarch, and kills off my sergeant (last remaining guy in my squad).

My turn, Recluisarch dies, helbrecht passes 6 armor saves.

His turn, Helbrecht kills one more warlock, passes 15 / 16 2+ armor saves. Combat is a tie.

My turn, my Emperor's champion and a squad of initiates assault to help my chapter master. They all die.... Helbrecht passes 12 / 14 saves, makes his bionics rolls, and passes one. Helbrecht remains with one wound left.

Round four at this point, Helbrecht kills off two more locks, passes another 12 saves but fails 2. I roll bionics... dual sixes. He takes leadership for failing combat, fails the first, embolden and he passes the second.

Bottom of round 4, Helbrecht takes 22 wounds... Sadly only passes 11 if I recall. Helbrecht goes down.

Helbrecht has cemented his place of glory in my mind. 175 points effectively holding off 1400 points. Pure win.

One game while shoting at Calgar with a rhino storm bolter rollin 4,4 then 6,6 his roll 1,1 Calgar only had 2 wounds left at that point.

One game i was playing against salamanders and we had to share the scatter die, I never missed nad he never hit.

watching me lose a game cause my Ld10 marines failed a ld check while holding an objective.

Isn't exactly "my" lucky roll, but sure was lucky for me. My friend's Avatar of Khaine has never hit anything with his Wailing Doom afaik. The Avatar has BS 5, and has fired a total of about 4 shots per game on average. we've played 2 or 3 games (cant remember) with it, that makes for about 10 ones in a row.

On my end, my Hammerhead once went RAGE on a land Raider first turn for killing my Broadsides. 3 consecutive 6's in a row and it blew up the raider on my first turn.

The correct word would be "Dakkanaut". The original phrase is "Dakkite".

3rd Edition. My SM v BA I win deployment, the one LC in my Dev squad is the only weapon I can fire (old 3rd edition mission starting on short table ends) hit, he fails the cover save, penetrate, roll the violent explosion, roll a 6 for the radius, hitting all the troops clustered around it. Termies inside fail 5 saves, inflicted another 8 wounds to the boys outside (4 of which on his command squad). All said and done; 1 LR, 5 Termies, and 3 BA troops killed by one LC on turn 1.

His face was picture perfect.

So far the most iconic episodes imo would the lone marine bringing down a carnifex and the epic heroism of helbrect

After getting assaulted by some beserkers my marines were forced to make 36 power armor saves. Rolled them all at once with two cupped hands and I swear to God made every single one. Imperial Armour!

While playing 4th ed, I had my monolith deepstrike in the middle of a Tau army that had 2 hammerheads, 1 skyray, and 2 devilfish and a couple of ground units within range of the gauss flux arc. in one turn the monolith killed every vehical in range and a couple of dudes. I also killed a 4 man terminator squad with powerfists by charging them with 12 necron warriors. I garuntee that will never happen again.

i thought i'd taken out a Monolith with an assault cannon on a dread.

i rolled to hit and hit just the once. I then rolled a 6 and thus got me extra D3 due to rending. Then I promptly rolled a 6 again giving me a total Armour penetration roll of 15. until he pointed out his Living Metal thing.

In another battle, I charged a unit of 20 Necron Warriors including a Necron Lord with a Squad of Assault Marines(10) led by my Chapter Master with Lightning claws. My opponent had left his lord dawdling at the back of the squad and so could not get him into contact when i charged, and i easily won. i tore through about ten of the warriors and he automatically fell back as i lost none in reply. he rolled his break off test and all i needed was a 2+ and those pesky Necrons would be gone but alas you know what i rolled.....

Dum dum dum...

7 Guardsmen stumbeled out of their burning Chimera to see 5 BT termies with temrie chaplain attached 23" away.
7 Shots 2 hits 2 would 2 DEAD!!

I killed my friend's Lord Kaldor Draigo with some plasma gun shots and a combiflamethrower from my Chaos Vindicator. He wanted to protect his squad mates by blocking the shots with his stormshield and rolled 1s. And the flamethrower 1 in the termie-armour-save was simply epic

in my first few years of gaming i collected Tau.

I played a Black Templars player and in one of the final turns he had manouvered his Emperors Champion into assault range of my Crisis Shas'o. I thought he'd be dead quicker than i could check how many attacks i had but lo! he not only survived unscathed(three 4+ invulnerables all saved) but killed the champion and proceeded to sweep into a chaplain and take a wound off him the turn later.

Not too shabby.

I wounded Calgar with a bolt pistol.
A feat that Lucius couldn't pull off in CC.

Plus that one time Lucius survived getting power fisted by 5 Terminators,which is lucky because he would have suffered instant death.

Probably my unluckiest game was my Broadsides either not hitting all game or when they did hit, fail to pen ANYTHING.

I was so angry I didn't use them for a couple of games. Since then they've been great.

Another unlucky streak for me was last week - I decided to move 4 Stealth Suits into terrain (I know - silly) and rolled three 1's. I literally just stood there and died a little inside.

My friend got quite unlucky when his Terms deepstriked and killed nothing with shooting then I unloaded 12 FWs rapid firing and 2 Drones unloaded from a DF and he failed 4 2+ saves then his LD. 8-D

Hmmmm I guess it's my Warboss laying down the hurt on multiple armoured targets and infantry alike. In the few games I've used him he has been a ruthless killer. In one turn of combat I used his mighty hammer (PK) and smashed open a dread. Another game, I tore a landraider a new exit hatch. And Terminators, ho boy. One turn, 4 dead IIRC. He refuses to let those pesky Marines live

Then there was the single best performance I've had from my lil group of snipers. 5 of them, Telion as sarge, ML guy too. Just in range of a squad of Marines on the other side of the board. So I open fire. 4 hits from 5 shots, all of which were Rending. I was mighty impressed with them that day.
