Most of the list seems pretty standard...except for those techmarines.


the only question I have is Why?

What are those 300 pts doing for you. You have a 1 wound IC model with 3-4 PF attacks. That is just asking for someone to put a power weapon in his gut before he can attack. They are not that great in combat, (unless you use them to buff a squad with grenades, which you did not take either).

What are they adding to your list? You have nothing that is going to sitting in terrain and shooting, to the Bolter Defences is not that great. Repairing is not that great either....

Yeah I have to question what the Techmarines are doing. Not a huge fan of the Henchmen units really either, they're decent but not amazing. Terminator config is fine but I don't htink them walking really supports the rest of your army very well. Perhaps mounted Purifiers or Strikes would be a better fit?

Tech marines are because it's an admech list. or half admech. they lead he henchmen and basically make it so that the unitscan be a threat to anything they come across.

For the cost of the three Techmarines you could get a 7 man Purifier squad with 3 Halbreds, 2 Psycannon and a Deamon Hammer, a Rhino for their Recreational Vehicle, and a Xenos Inquisitor with Rad Grenades.

That is way more killing potential then the Techmarines...

basically yes. Gave them Daemon hammer so that if they need to assault something (vehicles only)they can have 4 str 8 attacks.

The problem is that for 100 points each, those Techmarines don't effectively accomplish what you say you want them to accomplish. They have a Demon Hammer and some Power Fist attacks, but unless you get your extremely vulnerable Henchmen in Melee, they aren't doing a whole lot, and even then your opponent can single them out in combat and kill them before they even get to attack.

It would be much better to ditch them to upgrade the Terminators to mounted Strike Squads, and use the extra points for another Dreadnought. You would then have 75 points to spend on whatever you want. Psybolt Ammo for the Strike Squads, more Acolytes or perhaps some Crusaders for durability.

Suggestions.


Techmarine + Rad + Hammerhand (Fluff: hammerhand is not a psy power, but an overdrive command or something)

henchmen Assault unit with DCA and Crusaders (Fluff: Servitors with 2 swords, Servitors with Sword (maybe spear) and Shield)


They are a very powerful Assault unit



2x Jokaero + 3 Melta Warriors+5 Storm Bolters (Fluff: Jokaero are tech adepts with digital weapons, instead of monkeys with digtial weapons. rest are servitors/Scitarii)

Well rounded shooting unit, able to take on most threat at different ranges.



If you want it, you can take an Evicertor on a Banisher and get 2d6 Armor pen. 2 of them gives you 4 attacks, 60 pts instead of 100, not an IC as well so cannot be singeled out

ok, here is my question, why renig on your list entirely and post a draigo list??

in my experiences draigo is not a great HQ choice until you hit the 2k army size mark.

yes it is REALLY nice to field 2 hitpoint troop choices, but the big issue is that they are expensive!

if you want a draigo army make a 2k list, it will meet your needs MUCH better, or even a 2.5k list

if you want to go with the inquisitorial army, I would suggest making a group of psykers for some ranged abilities, they do some good damage if they are in a group of 5+ sitting back and protecting a spot (if you want them for tank busting, you will need 8 for the best results for your points) and backing them up with a crusader or two to help take invulnerable saves as needed

and btw PSYFLEMEN ARE UBERBROKEN!!!!
4 strength 8 twinlinked shots are so OP that they are a must in every army, if you need help on how to mod these onto your mech just send me a pm and I would be more than glad to send you in the right direction for a cost effective resolution.

The biggest question is however, what kind of player are you??? what I get from this is that you really like cc and want to field an effective army that has some range to it (hence the psycannons and psyflemen)

what I would personally suggest from this brief analysis is to go ahead and buy draigo, use him as a standard brother captain (yes I know wysiwyg is important, but playing with friends, they should be cool with ya subbing him in for now)

and then getting the terminators that you will use. make them as you want to make your to play as paladins, but have the apothecary be a standard terminator with a master crafted weapon (hence a good distinguishing characteristic) this will allow you to easily transition into the 2k point army that draigo rightfully should be in.

On a side note, instead of the extra brother captain, I would most likely suggest taking a librarian instead, he can be useful in a large amount of situations with his various psyker abilities, and can take servp skulls as well in so your paladins may deep strike if they wish. (however with this build I am making, I doubt they will need to)

Also, you will notice I took out the strike squad, if you are not putting some thing other than normal swords on them, you are losing too much so I made a tough call and took them out of the 1500 point equation.
