This isn't what I hoped for when I put the above wash on a Mechrite Red basecoat with Blood Red drybrushing:

Any suggestions on how to get rid of this bright pastel colour that seems to have appeared, and how to avoid it happening in future?

My army colours are red carapaces and purple skin; I like to use the same purple wash on both to tie them together, but this isn't how I expect washes to behave.

Curiously, it's not happened elsewhere on the model where the 'pools' of wash were deeper.

It might of been a rogue bit of pigment?

Heavily thin down some red gore and paint it into those spots. I know I did some source lighting awhile back and the blue that I used was too bright in places. I thinned down some red gore and it seemed to work really well.

Update: on a whim, I painted a dilute Leviathan Purple glaze over the affected parts. I seems to have done the trick.
