Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find a cost effective and creative way to scratch build a Damocles Rhino. Does anyone have one that they've done (or have seen pictures of a scratch built one that they can post and/or explain how it was done? I have plenty of Rhino chasis, and I'm not short on many extra sprues from Space Marine kits, so if you have any ideas, please feel free to share.

And just to clarify, it only needs to look like a Damocles Rhino on that exterior. I know with all certainty that I'll never be able to get the inside to look like the original.

All you really need is some sort of sensor unit to sit where a turret would normally go.

I made this one out of plasticard and the teleport homer from the Terminator box:

This one used a base made from plasticard because I didn't have a spare Razorback turret base at the time... but you could accomplish the same thing with the Razorback part with a lot less work

Wow, that looks really nice! Unfortunately, I don't have a spare turret either, but I've seen a friend use a half dollar coin for that turret hole (which coincidentally fits perfectly). Maybe I'll give that a try.

Also, how did you make/get the Ultramarine symbol on the side door? Was it something you special ordered, or did you make that from scratch too?

It's just cut out of a sheet of plasticard.

Sorry for the thread dredging, but I had a question concerning the Damocles Rhino Conversion Kit on the FW website.

Does anyone know what exactly comes with the conversion kit? My estimation is that it comes with the necessary pieces to make a Damocles Rhino using a regular Rhino chassis.

If this is the case, has anyone on Dakka bought one before? If so, please share your experiences with converting your Rhino.

Your correct in your assumption. It is however more cost effective to just purchase the whole kit.
