Apparently there's a vast untapped market that I've missed out on.

I once offered to sell $2.00 in loose change for £1, and people just laughed at me.

With all of the shipping, insurance, etc., it'd be around $40 for three genuine zip lock bags. If only GW had a book "How to use ZipLock bags for your bits."

I think that book is a sequel to "How to Roll Citadel Dice", with the final book being "How to Buy Games Workshop Miniatures". I can't wait!

There was no big bang
Mat Ward issued the fiat and spake the universe into existence.

I thought this had already been discussed on Dakka.
To keep the post on topic. Mat Ward also wrote the afore mentioned books, as well as the instructions on the ziplock bags.

FWIW Mat tells me that they are very useful for the conveyence of pickles for al fresco luncheons.

Mat also tells how the first FW zip lock bag was given to the blood angels by the necron as a sign of their eternal friendship.

Funny, but saddly probably true.
I think this guy is selling these because he knows that recasters will use them to sell couterfit FW. Worst of all, if someone calls the recaster on it, they will probably say they didn't know and they bought it from someone else and it came in a FW bag.

A cottage industry could grow with people burning pinholes into the resin and lopping bits off to make them look like genuine Finecasts.

A model in good order would be a dead giveaway of its inauthenticity.

It's sad, but so very true. I still remember learning that one of the best ways to tell a FW recast was if it was virtually flawless.

Ebay is so cool.

I knew a guy that would make money on Ebay by selling for example empty Wii boxes. He would put them up with no reserve and give the whole write up about the box. And for legal reasons, would make sure somewhere in there, it says box only. Youd be surprised how many people wouldnt pay attention and buy a box for $50 or so.
