I've recently decided to turn this into a blog instead of doing one-offs for each project i do, feel free to join me as i continually update it.

I've decided to take a small break from my 8,000 points of orks, and really like the New forgeworld model of tyberos, as well as the backstory of the Carcharodons, so i bought my first forgeworld model to make a beginning as well as centerpiece for the new army i plan on making.

i wanted a dynamic base for such an awesome model,so i broke out my bits box and plasticard and went to work.

(the mold line on the resin block hanging off the edge by rebar will be filed)

and here's what he'll look like on the base, i glued him temporarily for the picture, i'll be painting the model and base seperately

as always comments and critiques are more than welcome thanks for looking.

Wow, that is a nice base you have made there. I also love how dynamic the modell is.

Join the Imperial Guard. The pay's lousy, the battles fierce and you probably won't ever come back again. BUT you get a lasgun.

Thanks guys, the model is indeed gorgeous, I'm excited to paint it up and i hope i can do it the justice it deserves. Unfortunately i just tried to prime it and it didn't stick, even though i scrubbed the oil on the model off for 30 minutess with a toothbrush and soap. So now I'm going to give it a 24 hours soap and water soak and scrub it again and see how well the primer takes again. I'll post updates asap

I'm not sure, he looks like he's falling over to me there. Other than that, the base is awesome. Good to see Tyberos's claws are straight - mine were bent all over the place!

To me, his positioning on his base makes him look like he is falling forward rather than attacking downwardly.
How much room is there to play with the model's assembly? Could you twist his gaze (head) to the left and up? Or maybe move his left arm some how? Or bend his torso back from the waste?
To me it seems like some thing is not quite right with his center of gravity. Maybe it is just me and my eyes.
The skulls at his belt look great at this aspect though. I like your idea very much.

unfortunately there's no room at all to position his head differently, as it's a tight fit in the armour as it is, and i already had to add greenstuff inside of it to keep the head joined with the model. the arms i could reposition with greenstuff but it wouldn't make the difference i'd need unless i repositioned the waist as well. the only issues are: my greenstuff skills aren't the absolute best at the moment, i still have quite a bit to learn, and secondly, this is a forgeworld model, and my first one at that. so i'm terrified of doing anything to it i might not be able to fix after

I did however come up with a solution, it won't look quite as dynamic as i had hoped. but i extended the top of the base a bit, and have him standing almost normally now.

i plan on doing similar bases for a 10 man assault terminator squad that Tyberos will be leading, so i'll work on the dynamic poses with them, greenstuffing, etc as i'm not so afraid to experiment with plastic kit's i'm familiar with. it's just with resin, i don't wanna take the chance.

I'll be updating pictures of the base tomorrow morning once i have some good natural light coming in from my windows, so stay tuned

quick update, added more to the base and repositioned him. less dynamic overall, but i think it looks a lot better regardless

The last pics posted look much better imo.He looks more like he is balancing as opposed to teetering.

yep, they are barbed at the end, it's the forgeworld Tyberos model, leader of the Carcharodon chapter (space sharks) so his lightning claws/chainfists also have shark fins on them. badass =D

Yeah, that looks better. I'm not sure a model in Terminator Armour can ever look truly dynamic, but at least there he looks boss rather than looking like he's falling off a crumbling ruin.

Also good to see his resin tab being re-purposed for good use!

He looks much better now that he is repositioned, totally in balance yet still very very dynamic. Tyberos really looks like he is wading/ripping his way through the debris and coming for.....YOU!
Awesome. I absolutely love the rubble he is standing on. Your application of detail on his base is great.
I'm looking forward to seeing him with some paint.

Update time!! Just did some work on the base last night, aside from maybe one or 2 details i wanna touch up, i think it's finished.

another update, after looking at it, i agree that the gore was completely OD in contrast with the model, so i toned it all down with some heavy washes to make it look like it's all dried up now. Also, i kind of took Tyberos in a different direction then what he was painted as in forgeworld, because i wanted him to have a more "sharky" feel, with blues and greys. so here he is, pretty much finished except for some small blending i missed on the blues until i saw the pics.

A new project of goodiness, i was awful at keeping track of photo's throughout the process, as once i started i couldn't stop. but here it is, start to finish (mostly finish)

The concept was a dark angel attending a local carnival.

After laying the fabric out I realized i hated it, so i removed it for the final version.

Hope you like it.
