I'm thinking about buying the Eldar autarch model which GW just released as finecast. When I read the description it said that the kit contains additional weapon and backpack options. So my question is that what kind of weapon and backpack options come with the kit because GW doesn't seem willing to tell the options?

I think the metal one had the same options, I remember looking at the white Dwarf when Eldar was re-released the other night.
Pretty sure it came with a Dark Reaper missile launcher, and some other ones, another option is to not have the wings. Can't remember them with any certainty though sadly.

I remember one eldar autarch model which had the shuriken pistol/power sword combination but different head and a banner backpack, but the same basic body part. Could it be the optional build up?

I don't remember a Reaper ML, even though it's an option, but I do vaguely remember a Warp Jump Generator, helmet with Mandiblasters, Chainsword, Shuriken Pistol, Howling Banshee Mask, Swooping Hawk Wings, and a power weapon being part of the kit.

Or maybe I'm confusing the army box Autarch with the metal one too?

Yeah, hard to remember, I never got one when it first came out, went straight to Yriel.

If we're still not 100% in here by the time I'm home from work later, I'll dig out that White Dwarf again, and see if I can make any sense of what I was looking at.

The blistered metal version I bought about a year ago contained options for the backpack (one cool looking, one silly looking with flags), fusion blaster and shuriken pistol. Melee weapon was a chainsword.

There are two; one with mandiblasters, scorpion chainsword, WJG and fushion gun (thats the metal one) and one with wings, banshee mask, reaper launcher, shuriken pistol and power weapon (that's the finecast one).

So they are putting more options in the finecast packs? or at least different options?

In some, yes. Though, that autarch had those options as metal too.

The autarch you're looking at comes with a shuriken pistol and a reaper launcher (both for the left arm) and a power sword for the right. Comes with swooping hawk wings, and a normal eldar backpack with back banners.

Worth noting that the plastic dire avenger arms fit perfectly well on that autarch, and I assume many of the metal or resin arms from other aspect warrior kits would as well. I built mine with a spear and wrist-mounted pistol from the DA exarch.

Nothing has changed, it's the exact same as the metal one.

reaper, pistol, power sword, wings and banners.

The other one has jump genertor, banners, fusion gun, chainsword and pistol.

They are the same as when they came out in 06, but now one is in resin. No more freebies than before.

The one from the limited box set only had banners, pistol and I think a power sword. Than one had less options, but is by far my favorite. I gor all 3 to combine and switch options.
