i have had the idea of a SM bike army for a long time and like how it plays. however i really like the look of jet bikes.
i have seen many conversions out there to get the job done but am wondering what are some easy ways to do it.
firstly i had the idea of using the master of the raven wing bike. (expensive option yes i know but lets not count cost as a factor for the sake of discussion)
would it be hard to remove some of the markings and put regular bikers on this model??

also if anyone has any great ideas for a kitmash or converted bike that would be great too. i would rather stick to converting parts from GW sets and not making custom plasticard and the like. (that will come later when i get better at conversions etc...)

thanks in advance.

Insaniak has great looking JB conversion with minimal plasticard:

I second Insaniak's work. I also wouldn't be too hard, (fingers crossed) to do a similar job with an attack bike.

I'm using a kitbash for my Vultures. Its a bit pricey needing bits from 4 different kits, but I think it looks neat

Rider and TL bolters from the Scout bike (although you could replace with the Marine bike equivalents), most of the Eldar Jetbike, Jump pack jets and the torso from a stealthsuit.

Something like Insaniak's conversion is certainly the easiest and cheapest - you pretty much just replace the wheels with hovery engine bits. (The Chaos bike might be worth considering too.) For a whole army, make sure you choose standard parts that you can get lots of.

The raven wing hoverbike would be an obvious option for your army commander, but it might be difficult to convert that model to not look so obviously the raven wing hoverbike. Hmm, if GW put out a Finecast version, that might make it a little easier to convert - it's a big chunk of metal otherwise.

If you have the bits,

minimal GS work and pretty much all strait lines on plasti-card
