I talked to Dash on Skype yesterday, they're getting painted this week in time for the Railhead Rumble GT and WargamesCon, so his next battle reports will probably have better painted Necrons.

Good report, but sloppy play, sadly. There's definitely still some novelty/educational value seeing what the Wraiths can do against an opponent who doesn't know how to fight them, but it'll be really interesting the first time we see them against an opponent who knows what he's doing.

I can't help but agree with Mannahnin.

There have been grievous mistakes made by Dash's opponents in both of these battle reports. I'm afraid it doesn't make as strong a case for Wraith Wing as he hopes.

Then again, 3 Monoliths is an army in and of itself. Until you run into a properly built Tau list.

Dash's deceiver looks like it's scratch-built. He calls it his 'gardener' since his wraiths are made up to look like daisies. I like that idea.

I got 3 wraiths over the weekend, with 6 more at the store waiting on me. I'm excited to try this type of list out once i can afford/buy the models to do it. Keep the reps up, dash.

I was almost tabled by a necron army at a tournament this weekend that is much more brutal than Dash's. It had 2 monoliths, a deceiver, and 15 Destroyers.

I think at the end of the game I killed 2 warriors and 2 destroyers, and all I had was an immobilized Land Raider with just the heavy bolter left. Ouch!

Edit: I won the game, but it was brutal!

15 Destroyers is ugly to face, I don't care what army you're playing.

Especially with the Deceiver setting them up on first turn, god forbid they get first turn. ;'(

It was a good army. Too bad Grimjob's orks phased him out in 3 turns.

I'd like to see a battle report on that game. As a Necron player, Battlewagon Orks are kind of my nightmare opponent. Even more if Ghazkull is involved.

Let me guess, did the KFF keep the Destroyers from damaging Trukks and Wagons until the mean old Nobz got a hold of the Necrons?

It was more about the Monoliths failure to dodge the Deff Rollas.

This is what I am waiting for. The SW player had more than enough mobility that he could of just gunned for the warriors. I think many opponents will do what the SW player did in this game though; just get caught up with the wraiths, when honestly they're the last thing you should worry about in my opinion.

So far what I'm getting from both battle reports is, 3 Monoliths plus XXX equals competitive Necron army.
