Thanks to a 4 day weekend, and some help from my brother in law(and a heap of loving support from my wife) I managed to pull the trigger and convert my storage room into a respectable wargaming den. Pics to follow, sketch plans to first game all documented on my faceyspaces, xfered hopefully to here for your enjoyment.

Here is the plans:

Here is the load of supplies from my FLHS of choice, the full bill of supplies came to $85.78 (I bought a saw as well, but did not include that in the cost)

Initial shots of the top getting mocked up, also I would like to point out that I am going with a modular removable top. The entire top will consist of 2' x 2' high density fiberboard squares which will eventually be covered in high density insulation and built up as Cityfight surface on one side and outdoor battlefield on the other...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
another shot of the top, after getting all of the outside support 1.5'' x1.5'' blocks attached to the inside of the outer rail.

a better view of the top support system...

the bottom went together much faster than I had expected, so progress pics were taking a backseat to progress itself... btw that is my brother in law in the pic, thanks again Ryan for the help!

I guess I ought to get a pic of myself with my new table of awesomeness too!

And now, the first game on my new table... a 35pt scrap Malifaux game in my new nerdhaven this morning, many more games to come!
Make note of the epic lego terrain too! (real terrain in work btw but seriously, lego makes for great interim terrain)

Oh 2 more pics, of the room as a whole, from both sides too!

That looks like a great table. Would love to know the dimensions you used for all the pieces.

Thanks for posting this! Looks great. So it's 4'x6'? What's the thickness of the fibreboard? I'm always concerned about fibreboard warping.

I like the angled shelves as well. what a smart way to give the table a more rigid support.

sigh. I gotta build me a table like this.

also, a thumbs up to you for christening the table with a game of Malifaux.

Dimentions of all the lumber are on a cut list I preped and temp lost when I actually bought the lumber... its down in the truck and when I refind it I will add the hardware and other tweeks before posting it.

Fiberboard is 1/8 in but plenty sturdy for minis, terrain, dice and a 6pak of your beverage of choice. Mine however will get a worn battlefeild outdoor paint/dirt/flocking treatment on one side and a 3/4in foam layer cityfight urban surface on the other to add some girth to the fiberboard. More pics to follow this weekend for that process...
