So I had this idea of using grots as imperial guard, maybe using greenstuff to add coats on them like WWII style. Using ork flakk guns for the hydra and 4 grot bombs on a tank for the manticore tank. Then using 6 vendettas as vendettas but ork them up a little bit. I would add lasguns and special weapons as usual to each "grot vet" squad. If you fought a well painted and converted Air Cav IG list that had a theme around rebel grots as mentioned above, would it be allowed or would it cause too much confusion? Also the name of it would be " Da 3rd Rebel Grot Brigade... It's not da size of da grot it's how you use it!"

I would be fine with this. There are obvious LOS issues but... neh. I fought an army themed like yours i would first laugh, then enjoy it.

There's a guy here (his name escapes me) who has a rebel grot army that uses the IG codex as a base. It has a Soviet theme and is very cool - unfortunately Dakka's search function is failing me right now so I can't dig it up.

I would put them on rubble bases to make them about the same height of normal guardsmen, and most liekly will never get out of a vendetta unless it gets shot down. I would love to see how he made the rebel grot army! I would be going for competitive list so that's the reason I am asking.

There's a load of rebel grot guard armies out there. Sure bringing an army of them down to your local gaming club would be cool, it just comes down to how much effort your willing to put in (and do they still do the old goblin's boxset, or did they replace it like the night goblins one?).

Here's another example of rebel grots using the IG codex: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/217529.page

Hope this helps.

Here we go i found the one that i saw around the time i first signed up for Dakka (and in my mind the best grot rebellion to date done by Proiteus)

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/293742.page

Had to edit the spelling on Proiteus' name a couple times

glad to hear you've thought of this - it's pretty easy to do if planned in advance, and makes the resulting army a lot more acceptable in tourneys etc
