Subject: Are "Cover Saves " allowed when targeted by JotWW?

Couldn't find the answer via searching this forum nor do I have the Space Wolves Codex...
But if my orks where targeted by JotWW, and my orks are either in cover or under the KFF umbrella, am I allowed a cover save?
My oppoenent told me that no saves are allowed... but since it's a psyhic shooting, I thought I'd get a coversave at least (like I would if Doom of Malintai was around).
Thanks

Anything that doesn't cause wounds doesn't allow for a cover save. See markerlights.

No JotWW does not allow cover saves. This was specifically covered in the Space Wolves FAQ page 2.
Q. Does Jaws of the World Wolf allow cover saves?
A. No - you could take a cover save if the power caused wounds, but as it does not cause wounds, no cover saves are allowed.
So, it should work like this. Player declares that he is going to use JotWW (a psychic shooting attack). Player takes and passes his psychic test. A line from the Ruin Priest is drawn that is 24 inches long (may target a specific model). This line can be drawn through terrain. Any model that is a monstrous creature, beast, cavalry, bikes and infantry (not jump infantry, damn) that is touched by this line must take a initiative test (character test, BRB pg. 8). Roll a D6, a roll equal or less then you stat line initiative is a pass, model survives. Each model must make the test. Monstrous creatures can subtract 1 from the dice, thus increasing their chance of success a bit. A roll of 1 is always a pass, a roll of six is always a fail.

Just noting, before anyone asks, Walkers, such as dreads and sentinels, are not affected either.
However, to the OP, if he targets your Mek with Kustom Force Field, this is a solid strategy for weakening one of you most expensive units before destroying them with the rest of his shooting. I would suggest a different strategy against SW players.

Thanks guys...
I'm going to GT tourny this weekend and this helps.
So... following this same logic... any physic powers (from all codexes) that is used during the shooting phase, but doesn't wound (forcing some stat test) ignores every type of saves?
Am I correct in this assumption?

Anything which doesnt cause a wound cannot be saved against, as saves work against wounds caused.

Thanks again! That clarifies other questions I had as well...
Such Lash Princes... the lash can pull units out of cover and the unit doesn't get a coversave...
Thanks for the clarification ya'll!

As I said: unless you are dealt a wound, you cannot make a save - read pages 20/21 again, notice that the entire point of Saves is to negate wounds.
