When you assault 6" into or out of woodland with kroot does this count as taking a difficult terrain test and mean that you still strike at I1 or does it ignore the terrain test for woodland terrain?

Thanks.

Does it say in the entry that they ignore woodland terrain when moving through it?

it says they do not have to roll the Difficult Terrain test.

I say that they do not count as charging through difficult terrain and do not strike at I1.

Kroot ignore that terrain type for all purposes except for when they gain a cover save from it. They act as if the terrain isn't there, so everything else works as normal.

This is cut and dry, the entry specifically states it ignores the terrain, why is there even a question?

Yeah but I thought that only meant that you can always move 6", but still strike at I1 because it is area terrain.

Have a look at the rules for lowering your initiative: it does not care about "cover", it only asks: Did you take a difficult terrain check?

If you take a DT check, then your I is reduced to 1
If you do not take a DT check (Kroot in woods, for example) you are NOT I1

No, kroot do not have to take difficult or dangerous terain tests for moving through trees. I hope this helped!

So, to clarify for future reference, any unit that does not have to take a dangerous terrain test attacks at regular I?
