What type of units can Stomp work against? The rule states that it works against Warbeasts, Infantry, and swarms.

Can Stomp also work on:

1) Calvary (The term cavalry refers to roughtly man-sized riders mounted on war beasts : page 82)
2) Monstrous Calvary (follows same rules as Calvary, page 83)
3) Monstrous Infantry (since they are infantry)
4) Chariots (if drawn by warbeasts)

Thank you DakkaDakka.

You already said what Stomp works on.

If it is not one of those three, then no, it can't affect them.

I suggest you don't believe anything posted by thedarkavenger unless confirmed by other regular posters here at Dakka. He has shown he is incapable of basic English comprehension.

I understand, but Calvary are riders on warbeasts... War beasts are generally on the same size base as calvary.

So I can Stomp working on calvary at least.

Try not to think of it as base sizes. It really boils down to categories.

You have several troop types:

Infantry - A
Swarms - B
Warbeasts - C
Cavalry - D
Monstrous Cavalry - E
Monstrous Infantry - F
Chariots - G

Think of them instead as A, B, C, D, E, F, G

You may stomp on A, B and C but not on D, E, F, or G. Regardless of what is pulling them or what they are riding, these things are classified as Cavalry, MC, MI and Chariots. You may only stomp on Infantry, Swarms and Warbeasts.

2,500 - Discipline. Duty. Unyielding Will.
2,000 - He alone has the Emperor's soul in his blood.
2,500 - Order. Unity. Obedience.

Yes, it has nothing to do with size, only the Troop Type.

If they are not specifically infantry, wa rbeasts, or swarms, Stomp will not affect them.

A rider on a horse is a Calvary model. A rider on a Juggernaught is a Monstrous Calvary model. Etc.

I suggest you don't believe anything posted by thedarkavenger unless confirmed by other regular posters here at Dakka. He has shown he is incapable of basic English comprehension.

I can see everyone's points, but I guess this just looks like the Tank Shock/Ram argument for the Deffrolla in 40K.

When there was a dispute over if a Deffrolla could Ram, since it's rules only said it could Tank Shock, GW eventually came back with "Duh... Tank Shock is a Ram". I can see the posibility of a "Duh... Calvary are Warbeasts" statement coming out, but until then I'll play it whichever way DakkaDakka says.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but as has been mentioned before, the unit type, is really what matters here. So, if it doesn't fall within Warbeasts, Infantry, and swarms, then you can't stomp them.

"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face--forever." -1984, pg.267

I think George Orwell was unknowingly describing 40K.

They only said "duh, Ram IS a TS because it IS a TS - said so in its rules.

This is nothing at all similar to it.

And it says in the Calvary rules that they are mounted warbeasts, so I can see the simularities. but that's obviously only me.

If DakkaDakka rules that Calvary can't be STOMP'd, then that's good enough for me.

Case closed...

It's not dakkadakka ruling it, it's a clear statement in black and white in the rulebook that is ruling it. Troop type is troop type. Height of the unit is something completely different.

Yup. Monstrous infantry is like infantry. "Like" and "Is" are different.

Its the same as arguing that Bikes are "like" vehicles, so rules that only affect vehicles should affect them.

Unit type is unit type is unit type.
