Off and on. I'll likely start up a dark angels army before too much longer just so I have a marine army ready for 6th edition. But I've mostly played Eldar/Dark Eldar since second edition.
Depending on how the Eldar codex pans out and what they do with the miniature line we'll see if I pick Eldar back up too.

Deranged Necron Destroyer

I've always painted and worked on the models themselves more then actually playing so all this won't hit me to hard as I get a few models that look cool or look nifty together. I'll actually be clearing out my FLGS's stock of Necrons since he's removed them from the shelves in anticipation of the new release to sell directly to me so this recent hublub isn't setting me to far off. I think it also helps that I've looked into GW's recent actions in depth and tried to understand Why they're doing what they're doing and have been able to rationalize some of it, though they did a terrible job of explaining any of it to their customers

I've always paid local prices, and I've been through ~20 years of GWs price 'adjustments'. Also, my friends and I only play 40k, and just recently started Warhammer Fantasy. So it hasn't really affected us. We'll probably just buy a bit slower.

I'm still playing, but it's ebay or proxy only for me from now on. I won't pay what they're asking, not when there's no damn reason for it being that high, other than 'we can get away with it'.

I'm still playing, but less because of school. If GW raised their prices to even more absurd heights, I'd still have my army and my buddies would still have theirs. No reason to stop playing there.

Simple, it's fun, I have an army, I know others who have armies, and Dark Sphere is way cheaper. Just bought Tau Battleforce for my bro for $60 from DS compared to $90 on GW. Also bought two sets of scatted dice and normal dice for $6.00 whereas GW sells 1 set for $6.60. You can always find somewhere else that has much more fair prices than GW

No I don't play anymore. At my LGS we have enough of the game. Many played since Rogue Trader, others from late 2nd edition and the game just .... got to our nerves.
We prefer fast skirmish games, in fact we are now playing with Canvas Eagles , a free WW1 dogfight rule system... never had so much fun!
We will probably get back in the game with an Apocalypse game when we'll have the time for it

Certainly.
Admittedly, I haven't "played" the game in about a year now, but I still enjoy the painting and modeling.
It helps that I don't buy into that peculiar idea that GW is some kind of evil empire out for my firstborn.

I only started playing 40K 16 months ago. I've been a GW customer for 20+ years and still have Star Wars and shadowrun RPG books with GW price stickers on them.
I enjoy playing 40K, love modelling, not keen on painting (because I'm rubbish).
I only manage to get a game every few weeks but very much enjoy playing and plan to do so for as long as my mates continue. And as we're all playing several armies and have indeed all just started new armies hopefully I'll be playing for a while yet.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

Not with my Chaos, and rarely with my Tau until they both get new codices, and only then if my armies are still legal and at least slightly effective.
WHFB, not with my WoC or Lizards. They were both planned to be 3k, my Lizards barely scratch 2k (only by maxing out on upgrades, unnecessary or otherwise) and my WoC are a hellcannon and warshrine away from 1.5k
Considering that 2k is the minimum people usually play for WHFB, and that my Lizards aren't in any way competative at the moment, my WHFB days are over until I can find some cheap stuff (otherwise known as when I can be bothered to put money into my paypal account).

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I just got a dark elder army before the price change hit. I don't intend to make another 40k army unless all future releases are of the same price/quality of dark elder, which basically rules out armies that aren't getting extensive makeovers.
Sisters of battle and necrons are coming up soon and could be good ranges.
Black Templar and dark angels are not likely to change much at all model wise.
Sadly I feel like chaos marines might get the shaft again, for the third edition in a row. Unless GW decides to redo the entire range, and it really does need it:
Chaos marines, all 4 types of cult marines, raptors, and havocs all need new kits. I wouldn't be surprised if chaos got some sort of big kit daemon engine for GW to force everyone to buy, either. It would be a massive revamp though, which is why I think chaos will probably get about 1 new plastic kit, a couple metal to plastics (raptors?), and a big stupid dreadknight/hell pit abomination/necrosphinx type model.
