Chaos Space Marine dedicated to Slaanesh

Gentlemen,

I need help writing a 1750 and 2000 point ork hybrid list.
I've played daemons and chaos space marines for some time now and my knowledge of orks is fairly limited.

After lurking in several forums, the general consensus is that there are two competitive builds - Kan wall / green tide and Battlewagon / KFF spam, what i want to know is - is it possible to make a competitive build not following these guidelines..?

I really want an army that contains a mixture of nob bikers, battle wagons and trucks - i want a fast army that hits hard in assault!
Sooo.. Currently i have a Nob biker squad which i made for a kill team event, this unit has the same ole' diversify wounds BS ie Power Klaw, Painboy, Power Klaw+Combi flamer, Big Chopper blah blah. But thats it. What army list would you recommend based on my preferences..? What would you suggest i purchase next for said army..?

Any comments would help
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the green side

First of all, there is no functional ork "hybrid" list, orks work very different from space marines, and the best way to start out is to forget anything about tactics you'd apply to your current armies.

Nob bikers will often eat a fair chunk of your points, so you running trukks and bw in a bigger number could pose a problem. Both get better the more you have, and using nob bikers essentially makes you have less, due to points and FOC. I suggest you'd either go with lots of trukks(boyz, MANz) and a single battlewagon, or with all battlewagons and a trukk or two and hide them behind those wagons. Either way, the list should contain KFF as it makes any vehicles more durable.

I've found that you can substitute a battlewagon of nobz with nob bikers in a regular battlewagon bash lists, if you don't want to use many trukks, that might be an option for you, too.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Start with a Big Mek w/ KFF. It is absolutely needed.

Next get a Warboss. Make it either a vanilla boss, a biker boss, or Ghaz for awesome charge capabilities.

Now try and strike a balance between Nob bikers and Battlewagons. I'd try for 2-3 Battlewagons, and 2 Nob Biker squads (one of them being a troop from the Warboss choice at some point). The two Nob Biker units should not eat up too many of your points, as you still have other things to purchase.

For support, get a few Loota squads, some Deffkoptas/Buggies with Rokkits.

The remaining points then go to Trukks of boyz.

Here is an example at the 1850 point level:

HQ Options-
Ork Warboss on Warbike, Powerklaw, Bosspole, Cybork Body, Attack Squig -155 Points

Big Mek with Kustom Force Field- 85 points

Elite Options-
5 Nob Bikers- 2 Powerklaws, 2 Big Choppas, 1 Waaagh! Banner, 1 Bosspole, 1 Painboy, Cybork Bodies-360 points

7 Burnas

Troop Options-
5 Nob Bikers- 2 Powerklaws, 2 Big Choppas, 1 Waaagh! Banner, 1 Bosspole, 1 Painboy, Cybork Bodies-360 points

19 Ork Boyz with Shootas, Nob with Bosspole and Powerklaw-154 points

20 Ork Boyz with Shootas, Nob with Bosspole and Powerklaw-154 points

Fast Attack Options-
1 Deffkopta with Twin-Linked Rokkit Launcha and Buzzsaw- 70 points

1 Deffkopta with Twin-Linked Rokkit Launcha and Buzzsaw- 70 points

‘eavy Support Options-
1 Battlewagon with Armored Plates, Grot Riggers, Big Shoota-110 points

1 Battlewagon with Armored Plates, Grot Riggers, Big Shoota-110 points

1 Battlewagon with Armored Plates, Grot Riggers, Big Shoota-110 points

If you are running trukks put your bikes near them so the trukks can benefit from cover if your KFF is out of range.

I don't know how this keeps coming up. I have a biker nob holding a big choppa above his head, and even he doesn't really cover 50% of a trukk, more like 40%.

You make the big choopa a life size swiss army knife. That should give you enough cover for the trukk.

Which would be modeling for advantage. That's like the dread knight holding a huge sheet of metal in the air, so the GK player could hide his storm raven behind it.

I think that keeps coming up for 1 of 2 reasons.

1. they think like shooting boyz mob A through boyz mob B. Obviously forgetting that vehicles need to be blocked 50% unlike non AV units.
2. They think the smoke cloud made from a bike, is granted to the unit behind the bike.

If its not those then I have no idea where they get the idea from
