I do not know if this is the right place to post a tutorial request so if it doen't belong here please sent a P.M. to unsubscribe it.
The tutorial I want is about painting Legion Of The Damned miniatures flames. I found the painting really hard despite all my efforts and the tutorial on White dwarf # 361 was not that helpful.
So I need a tutorial describing the colours and the method I should use. It would be much appreciated if the tutorial includes some photos of the progress.
Also for those who have the knowledge please post some tips for painting 3D themed flame on flat surface.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

This isn't specifically for Legion of the Damned flame painting but it's a pretty good description of how to achieve a decent effect with flames, might help. http://hot-lead.org/advance/fire_theory.htm

I appreciate it but the problem is that the flame is not sculpted that way on the miniature. The flame is flat (example http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440272a&prodId=prod550010a) Also when I told about 3D themed flame i meant something like this http://www.coolminiornot.com/243231 or this http://www.coolminiornot.com/225032 Thanks for your effort anyway.

When I painted these,
I painted the flames with mechrite red, and then I started to paint a layering downwards, from blood red, though fiery orange down to golden yellow. Did that help, or did you want them to look more like GW:s flames?

You'll note the difference, though, that the flames on the Fire Dragons fade from yellow in the middle to red at the edges, unlike the Legion models that have the fading the other way. This is an important difference betwen what everyone thinks flames look like and their actual colour profile
