so i;m repainting my army to crimson fists and already kitbashed 6 legion of the damned, 5 vanguard veterans (really awesome imo) and working on 5 sternguard to attach my pedro kantor to... in the wargear options 2 can upgrade to a heavy bolter.

is it uncommon in the crimson fists to have some sort of bodily augmentation? because i was thinking that for one of the heavy bolter guys i would attach the right heavy bolter from a heavy bolter turret (from a rhinoback lol) a'la some kind of cybernetics, and have it magazine fed and a knife on the left arm. i'm probably rambling now, lol

but yeah, Crimson Fists known to enbrace cybernetics?

also, rules for wargear say that the sternguard vet sarge can eschew his bolter / bolt pistol for a power fist, then under it the rules state that any model can take a storm bolter, so it's legal for my sarge to have both a storm bolter AND a powerfist?

Yes you choose what item to trade for the other items, so it's possible to have storm bolter and powerfist.

As to mechanical augments, space marines lost body parts sometime, and sometimes a robo version is better than nothing.

However note that you cannot use the special issue ammunition in a stormbolter, so its not a great swap gameplay wise, althoguh can look frankly awesome model wise

Actually, as it's an assault weapon, it does mean you can charge something after firing it, and get to use that nice powerfist. Though I always use my sternguard for shooting stuff with the special ammunition, either while hiding in a building or after jumping out of a land raider that just deep struck (BAs) and laughing at the now dead enemy.

Let there be BLOOD!

I carry with me an Inquisitorial Seal. It is a small, unassuming object contained in a neat box of Pluvian obsidian. It is a modest thing. Relatively plain, adorned with a single motif and a simple motto. Yet with this little object I can sign the death warrant of an entire world and consign a billion souls to Oblivion.

Yep, you can fire it - but you lose being able to fire the special ammunition, and thts the main focus for a sternguard squad.
