So I was fliping through the images section on IGN for Space Marine and I found this one near the top. A female IG. I know its not like 'OMG WOW!!', its more like a 'hey cool they actually included that and it show's that they really do know the 40k fluff'.
sorry if this has already been posted. I just found it today.

I thought Co- op was in that other build with 4 players, but they axed it?
Never heard of the Vengeance grenade launcher.
Edit: And quite frankly, she's missing Technobits; can't be a commander.

She's Cadian. They don't necessarily go for technobits to be a commander.
The 'other build' and axing of coop I've not really heard anything on.
The 'Vengeance' grenade launcher is apparently being introduced within this game as a weapon created by the Mechanicus.

INCOMING: Codex: Grenade Launchers
I'll probably just play Space Marine and Skyrim in tandem. Do Space Marine storymode, Skyrim should be out, and then take a break from Skyrim every now and then to place some Multiplayer.
But, that is in the fictional world that I don't have to go out and make money D:

Aye, Cadians don't have the really close ties to the Mechanicus that requires them to have a lot of technology embedded in their face to be a commander.
Now, I know that in fluff Cadians are usually pretty tall but she looks to be about only a foot shorter than the marines.
She may not actually be a high ranking commander either, they usually have refractor fields and the whole metal piece they wear on their chest over their armor to protect refractor field wiring. Could be a sergeant or other NCO equivalent.

She's Cadian, odd for Cadians to fight Orks according to fluff but they are recognizable so that may be why they chose Cadians. In fact her uniform shows that she's part of the Cadian 8th under Creed if my memory serves correctly. So Creed probably used some sort of tactical genius to get into the game, either that or a CRASSUS ARMORED ASSAULT TRANSPORT.

Maybe it is some Regiment that use Cadian equipment.

Very interesting to see though one finally being shown "officially"

Most women in combat wear their hair in a ponytail, because they can tuck it up underneath of their helmet.
The fact that she's not wearing a helmet though tells us she's in charge. Uh no. Khaki and green is the 'standard' uniform of Cadians serving offworld.
The regiment she's with is the 2nd, she's part of a command squad(the skull on her shoulderpad indicates this), and it's the 3rd company.
So Creed probably used some sort of tactical genius to get into the game, either that or a CRASSUS ARMORED ASSAULT TRANSPORT.

Basically: First numeral indicates the Regiment.
Middle, if they're not part of a command squad or the Regiment has triple/double digits, will be the squad designation.
Last will indicate the Company--or depending on the designator of the Regiment will be a continuation.
So yeah. It could be the 203rd, but at the same time the 'skull' emblem indicates a Command Squad member.
So there's 3 ways to look at it.
Command Squad for the 203rd Regiment.
Command Squad for the Command Platoon of the 23rd Regiment.
Command Squad for the Command Platoon of the 3rd Company for the 2nd Regiment.
It's all very very vague and obnoxious. I usually go for the simplest one though, which is the last one.

Well, from the fact that the Marines are interacting with her, and she has a headset... Command squad, possibly communications officer.
Noticed that the marine with the GL also has what looks like a bolt pistol hanging from his waist.

That 'headset' is standard for Cadian infantry though. It's what the bulges on the side of their helmets are for--they slot inside of the helmet, with the mouthpiece being able to detach and mount inside of the chinguard.
kenshin620 wrote:Bolt pistol is always your backup gun i think, from the gameplay vid it shows unlimited ammo for it
Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Likely, you draw the bolt pistol whenever you go into 'melee' mode.
Would definitely make sense in that case.

@Kanluwen,
I would like to direct you to pages 30-31 of the 4th edition codex, on those pages is a list of examples of imperial guard uniforms. The Cadian 8th has several uniform styles; Khaki and Green(pre-M38), White and Shadow Grey(Winter, M41), Brown and Green camo(Jungle, post M39), Brown and bleached bone(Vrakesworld Campaign), Bubonic brown and Bestial brown(Gerreck Heresy, M40). So you are incorrect about the 'standard pattern' being green and khaki. The Cadian 8th is the one regiment that uses that color scheme(among many others).
Also quoted from the codex: "Even though forces of a single world maintain the same basic uniform, there is still a great diversity in camoflauge schemes between different regiments and theatres of war.". So fluff wise they need to fix that.
In the book 'Cadian Blood' they wore uniforms with a dark camoflauge pattern(grey and black I believe).
You are right about the central skull signifying a command squad member.
Although I guess the illustrators forgot about the fluff though, the mural on pages 12-13 which are supposed to show Creed leading the Cadian defenders who have four numbers on their shoulder pads though.
