I recently added Tau as a chance to paint/play something different than my usual Marines and Orks. The thing is, I want to go with an urban camo look (to try painting something other than green) that strikes a balance between a decently painted army and something I can complete fairly quickly. Right now I have two Fire Warrior squads, a commander in a battlesuit and a Devilfish (looking to get another this weekend). Don't know if it makes much difference, but maybe something to consider is that my ultimate goal is to make everything mechanized. Any thoughts on where to begin? Thanks for any help.

Google for camouflague patterns and try to find one you like

I did a sort of urban/mountain pattern for my Tau (colours primarily chosen for ease of painting):

You could do for vehicles what I do. I spray the vehicle with Krylon Flat Grey Primer and then tape off the areas I want to remain that color. I then paint the other areas with Charadon Granite before spraying the bottom of the hull with the grey primer again to give it sort of a two-tone appearance. Examples:

If you want something fast, but looks good you can go with a gray/gray or gray/black color scheme.

For wa hile I had thought of an urban Tau army. I did 4 test Pathfinders with dark gray fatigues and light gray armor. Look very good and Urban, was quick and easy to paint, and did require figuring out how to lay the cammo down to make it look right.
