Ok, so if Canis Wolfborn has a giant wolf that he prances around on, wouldn't it be possible for a space marine (more specifically a Blood Angel) to ride a giant eagle into combat?

If they haven't been gentically modified in any way (HERESY!) and have the sanction of the chapter master/inquisition, and the Codex Astartes doesn't say not to, and the eagles can carry two tonne giants on their back, then maybe.

I wouldn't try it if I were you, I don't think anybody liked the giant wolf riding thing, and giant eagles would be much worse in my opinion, especialy with the Blood Angels, people hate them enough already, this would just give them another reason to do so. If you want to avoid all the Blood Angel haters out there, steer clear of giant eagles. However giant eagle wings on the backs of your marines should be alright, Sainguinus was the winged primarch, so I don't see why his marines wouldn't get the same mutation.

I dont really care about what haters like and and don't like. Real 40k fans wouldn't care if a space marine was riding a tortoise.
And yes, I have thought about that.

Au contraire, mon capitan, a true 40k fan would care If there was something as stupid looking as a Space Marine riding a tortoise, or a "great eagle".
But you're right, you shouldn't care about what haters like or don't.

its was supposedly a eagle like bird that could eat elephants.
there once were giant flightless birds that were apex predators. sort of like giant chickens with huge beaks capable of breaking a horse's back.
if chickens were 4 feet tall, they would prey upon humans.
fortunantly, the largest chickens are only 3 feet tall.

Have it counts as an avrus lighter from IA1, but with a DCCW. Personally I wouldn't play against it, because giant eagles are more the realm of WHFB, rather than 40K.
