I've come across an opponent who pointed out that the narrative passage above the fortune ability
"evade enemy fire"
as implying that it can only be used when rerolling shooting saves.


For me this is just ridiculous, but could anyone point out where it's explicitly said that it can, or cannot be used in close combat?

I've ran a search on google and most results are about whether or not you can cast fortune in close combat, not using it to reroll cc saves. IMHO, if you can cast it but not be able to use it then it's just silly.
