So I have had a Necron Lord model sitting neglected in a blister pack for a number of years now, and I decided this past weekend to break it out, do a little conversion work on it and paint it up as a test model:

I like the stock Necron scheme: metallic with gold accents and green rods, etc., and I think this is a decent table-top quality paint job that I could assembly line paint rather quickly.

Necrons are one of the few 40K armies I have not collected at some point, and if the new codex is decent, I just might be tempted....

C&C welcome...

Looks like he's going for a lay-up!

;-)

Just teasin' CT... very nice work, as usual. Love the axe and the bit above the head.

He can do a reverse dunk...

I was thinking of finding a smaller opaque orb (perhaps a jewelry bead of some kind) to replace this painted one, but I think from a game-play standpoint exaggerating the orb for ease of recognition isn't a bad thing...

Had the same idea.I think it looks good, although there could be a different colour on some piece of his armour.

I actually went back and painted his skull gold.

I also plan to add some runes to his should plates.
