So it has finaly boild down to this, after playing a friend of mine who plays Empire. I decided that I need to add some more killing power to my herd, So dakka hear my plea. What is the best choice for beastmen to deal with 80+ Empire knigths with Templar grandmaster?
I have tried the following:
Minotarus - works to a certain degree
Bestigors -..........
Gors with tw handweapons - Work at times
Should I add a Ghorgon or maybe a Jabberslythe? Any advice is appriciated

Ghorgons are beastmen beast monster and remember because their is no model for it you can use a very small model for it so it doesn't get shot at.
With minotaurs give them great weapons and charge them in the flank.
Remember to use the ambush rule it can give you a slight edge.

Ghorgon is the daddy when it comes to rares. Though i do like jabberslythes as well as a shock unit. As for minotaurs I prefer to give them armor and shield for some chance of protection. As missile troops pick them off easily. Bestigors are great in a block at least 25 strong with the flame banner. Its great for hacking apart trolls and hellpits. Gors are amazing with handwepaons or shields. Especially if you have a lvl 2 bray shaman whos only real job is to cast augments from the lore of beasts on his unit.
As for ghorgons size you need to roughly make it giant sized I believe.

Ghorgon is S6 and will only get past the armor half the time, which isn't good enough.
Jabberscythe won't get the aura against units Immune to Psychology, which any unit led by the grandmaster is.
Monsters can't thunder stomp on cav, which makes them poor solutions for dealing that knights.
How large of a game are you playing where you opponent brings 80 knights?
What size of units are those knights in?
I suggest lore of shadow to neuter his stats.

Don't overlook the Beatman Giant. He's cheap(er) and can really mess with mass units because of his special attacks. Also because of his Chomp roll, can keep healing himself and just be damn annoying.
Cygor is also nice because he's a stone thrower with no min range and he can chuck rocks while he's closing in combat. But he's also a very expensive stone thrower so you still need him pounding things to be worth the cost.

Against Empire you will have almost nothing to CHomp

Ah thanks people, I have been running my Bestigors in 40 man squads, but as sevral has pointed out. Cannons are ugle, and yes I use the ambush thing ALWAYS! And thanks again. Will look into what I can use as a Gorghon. Maybe a minotaur with four arms and dragon wings?

Under normal circumstances, I'd probably recommend the Ghorgon, but if you're looking to rock the Empire, the Jabber has got some potential. Flying helps you get to the warmachines, and the aura of madness actually has an impact on units that get separated from his general & BSB. Automatically Appended Next Post: Follow up: That being said, I think there's better options vs. Empire than *any* of the Beasts monsters.

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.
On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

Scouting Harpies are awesome.
You could go 3 shamans around the herdstone, and one lvl 4 shadow shaman combo. The Pendulum and Pit of Shades spells should have a decent chance of taking out some knights. Plus Mindrazor will strip them from their insane armour.
Get Wyssans Wildform off and see the knights bounce off your Gors.
I don't think that any of our monsters are the right thing to deal with knights.

Minrazor does not affect armour

It doesn't get rid of the armor save directly, but Mindrazor can boost your strength enough that it negates their armor that way.

Mindrazor doesn't directly affect armour, but your troops hitting at S7 or higher certainly reduces the armour save a bunch.

I thought the mindrazor strength did not modify armor, and that you only used it to wound

Still effects armor as far as I know. Now, it doesn't benefit from other things that increase your strength further, like Great Weapons. You just get Ld, that's it.

Just had a quick look, I think the sentence that's causing confusion is: ...target unit use their Leadership when rolling to wound...
It has nothing to say about armour negating however. I couldn't find anything about it in the Faq, but at 18+ I'm guessing that it still negate AS though.
To correct my wording, it wont 'strip' but rather negate AS.

Will try that spell / shaman combo. Althou I have had less than enjoyebal luck with maqic, Luckely my opponets goes easy on the maqic. Even more proof I need to amp up my maqic fase.
To summeraise, get more spells, Minotaurs with GW and Harpies. More Bestigors and Gors, and poor on the hits.
