So my friend and I seem to disagree on this one. The hive guard rules don't outright ignore cover, but can negate it in specific situations. But the question us can it negate the KFF cover saves? What about with vehicles, my friend uses them mostly in his argument, mostly sing the wording of the rule is to give cover to infantry only and under special situations, and not referring to vehicles which to him means no cover saves on vehicles at all.
Anyone know how to call this?

Impaler Cannons has stipulations on when to claim cover saves from cover. Two completely different things. Cover saves due to anything else (KFF, Smoke, Flat-Out, Venomthropes, Ork Dust Clouds, etc) are not affected in anyway.

Uh, why not? If the rule negates cover safe, then cover save is negated. I don't know the specifics of the rules being discussed, so I can't say for sure myself. Please quote your reasoning instead of just saying "No it does not negate the KFF" anybody could just make a statement like that  Automatically Appended Next Post: Nungunz got there before me, sorries

As stated the hive guard weapons ignore cover based on obscurement by terrain, but the KFF is cover from wargear. The guns don't ignore wargear cover, so...

Short story: Impaler cannon negates bonuses from cover not cover saves. And no, I'm not going to make any quotes, because you can:
1) Read the text for the impaler cannon
2) Read the thread that already talks about it... about 10 topics down from this one

Read the underlines on my previous post. Cover and Cover Save are two completely different things. Cover is one of several things that can give you a cover save, but it isn't the only thing (IE wargear or special rules).
