So I have been working on a custom scheme for my Blood Angels/Space Marines and as of now they are called the Arachnid Blood Angels or Arachnid Space Marines. Below are pics of almost everything I have painted. A lot of the army is still work in progress, that is why there are so few assault marines, I have ten below but I have 16 more I need to paint, I also have another tac squad that isn't completely finished, a devastator squad, marneus calgar and his honor guard whom I will paint in this scheme, two captains, and another dreadnought, and another land raider. However, I want a better name for this chapter and I am having trouble coming up with one so I was hoping you all could comment on my paint jobs and my models and also help me come up with a good name for my chapter! How about space marachnids?

nice army, i like the webbing effect on the land raider and dread.

Very original, I like the free handing, looks good. How about trying to include Redback in the name, it's the most deadly spider and your marines remind me of it.

Hmmm I was thinking about some how trying to link the name with the megarachnids from the planet murder in the second book of the Horus Heresy series, but still no luck. I'll look into Redback, maybe use the scientific name for it or something. Glad you guys like them!

The Megarachnids were what I first thought when I saw the title of this thread! I like the idea of the Red Dante. Can we get a closer picture of him? Please? Otherwise, very nice work!

I can try, I used my friends girlfriends camera so it may take a while to get a close up pic of him, if you view any of the pictures in the gallery you can zoom in a lot though.

Yeah, I know. The problem is that that does olse some of the clarity. No worries if you can't get better pics, it just looked like an interesting idea.

I like the color scheme along with the idea, very original!

What about Adeptus Astartes, Widow Makers?

Taking that theme further, maybe you could mix a Marneus Calegar with a Wyrd Minatures Steamborg (or some Tomb Spyder bits) to get a pseudo Sarpedon leader... to keep with the whole female black widow being the most potent version you could even try and convert Marneus into a more female looking version (greenstuff some longer hair or grind out his face and replace with some sisters head bit?).

Space Spiders, Megarachnids, Widow Makers, Blood Web, they all sound sweet.

Edit; Oh, forgot to add. Excellent paint job, friend. I like the edge highlighting and your free-hand web looks great!

You now need to model up a techpriest with spider arms, and have some WHFB spiders as his servitors. That would add to the whole Arachnid theme!

What is the banner on the LR, i Love it!!! I have been looking for a Huge banner to put on my ShadowSword!

The Banner is just some random plastic stuff I had from old action figures that I glued together and then drew on the banner and cut it and taped it on lol. I am actually going to cut it again and put it on a standard bearer.

And I love Order of Araneae, that sounds awesome. Or Order of the Arachnid or something similar. Thanks for the ideas!

That would be awesome, but I'm not very good at molding or using greenstuff so Idk how that would turn out. But it's a very cool idea haha

It's my make-shift Ironclad Dread haha. I had a bunch of random bits so I decided to make my own custom dread.
