Would it be possible for a heretic space marine chapter to survive in Commarragh?

In the Salamander books there are Marines trapped in some of the areas around Commarragh.

Also the Salamanders like going into the webway and kicking some DE ass then leaveing.

No. Not an entire chapter at any rate.
Salamanders had a crack at rescuing some chappies that were in a spot of spacial bother and they more or less ended in a draw. The Dark Eldar repelled them and inflicted fairly substantial losses whilst the Salamanders managed to rescue their imperilled brethren.
Commorragh (Spelling?) is big however but a SM chapter requires substantial resources to keep going and they wouldn't be able to receive those resources if they were stuck there... a small group may manage it like in the Salamnders novel i suppose...
There was a short story about a slave rebellion... it didn't end to well for the slaves that rebelled so go figure.

And it only ended "more or less in a draw" because Vect allowed it to. He used the Salamanders as cat's paws and a cover to kill off his rivals.

Playthings, possible. Slaves? Impossible. Theyd rather shoot themselfs trough their head for the Big E.

No, space marines are valued for being slaves. So their are Space marine slaves. Nothings impossible in fiction

Why?
If they serve long enough they will eventually get the chance to strike at an important DE if they get lucky and if they are really lucky they might manage to kill him...

In Blood Gorgon a brother gets captured by some DE pirates after getting a nasty bump on the head, his buddy goes on a trek to save him. But when he finds him, hes gone and gotten himself stoopid.

On the plus side, the salamanders were able to inflict a high level of casualities and damage in return.

The salamanders went into Commorragh a second time with Vulkan at the front.

Enough about the Salamanders. The question was about Renegade Space Marines. I don't think they'd want an entire Chapter running around but yes. Codex DE revealed that there's many races residing in Commoragh including humans.

The main thing I would like to know could a group of heretic space marines survive in commarrah if they worked together with a Kabal

They could in limited numbers. A large group is a danger. Obviously DE are unapologetic speciests too.

Which would presuppose that the Archon of the kabal would work with them, rather than having them vivisected for kicks.

Dark eldar consider all other races to be playthings at best, and animals at worst. Why on earth would they ally with a small, unsupported group of renegade SM for more than the time it would take to use them as a tool?

And that's before you add the giant bowl of paranoid-o's the Archons all eat each morning. They would likely consider the offer to be an insult (if you're lucky) or an attempted deception by one of their rivals.

The Dark Eldar are known for employing mercenaries and it might be possible that a particularly influential and daring Archon employs his own renegade marine warband, much like he would employ a number of Incubi or Mandrakes.

They are also known for betraying said mercenaries, or having them killed in a fit of pique.

I'm not saying it's impossible. Archons are unpredictable folk. I wouldn't give good odds on the long term survivability of the renegades though.

True..

Unfortunately most marines, of any stripe, are fanatics with their own agenda, that tend to look down on any other critter..

If they managed to break this indoctrination/genetic predisposition i could see them being a fun pet.

Dark Eldar can already do nearly everything a renegade marine force can do, though not usually all at the same time witht he same people.

The infiltration/mindfeth tricks you could pull with other marine chapters might be amusing...

An Alpha Legionnaire I bet would possess the necessary gumption to navigate the dangerous political/diplomatic terrain of Commorragh. And Shaddom, too, while we're at it. It'd be like that Spartacus TV show, now with chainswords.

Yeah dark eldar really don't care if marines are loyal or not. Case in point the third soul drinkers book. As long as the benifit more than the ones they are working with they could care less. its funny when the Archon from that books tells there crimson fist captain that he couldn't tell the difference between him and sarpedon how is a 12 foot tall spider legged mutant. I think as long as they benifited from it they would work with and allow small warbands of marines but an entire chapter I don't belive they would allow.

Walk in the shadows and deliver the Emperor's justice into dark lairs of his enemys. Strike from the shadows and let them fear the very darkness they call home. Embrace the shadows for when all others would be driven mad we shall remain whole.

My guess is a group of large Space Marines in Commorragh would attract too much attention to itself, ambitious Cabals would look to capture such prizes as slaves to make them "rich", as slaves are the currency of Commorragh.

It's for this reason I can see perhaps a few traveling renegade SM pirates trading booty in the city from time to time, but not settling there in large numbers.

Assuming that the DE all think that they aren't worth taking as prizes, maybe...

Unfortunately, Marines are highly valued as slaves.

They might do better in DE controlled space / The webway than the Dark City itself.
