Good evening Gents of YMDC.
A couple of issuies came up last night in a game of IG versus Chaos Marines.

1.) A Deamon Prince with wings is considered Jump infantry. He is thus a MC with Jump pack and treats all difficult terrain as dangerous. So he has the Move Through Cover USR and each time he tries to cross difficut terrain he must roll a die and if he gets a 1 he gets a wound. Am I right?

2.) A sorcerer uses Lash of submition on a unit of Guardsmen. He is attached to a unit of noise marines. Does the shooting of the marines happen after the movement of the lash or before?

Your advice is much appreciated.

You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!

1 If the demon prince jumps into terrain, then yes he needs to make the test. However you can choose to move normally instead of using the jump pack, avoiding the test.

2 Not sure after the recent faq, but before hand it was all at the same time.

1. He is not considered Jump Infantry, he only moves as Jump Infantry. There is a distinction there which then allows you to work out the rule.

2. It has been pointed out that Lash does not meet the new FAQ requirement to be considered a psychic shooting attack, so it can be interpreted to be done before or after the unit fires.

One other thing to remember also is because lash is not a shooting attack the sorc can lash unit A and then the squad he is with can shoot and charge unit B.

Out of curiosity, could an Eldar Farseer attached to a guardian squad do the same thing? Doom a squad then shoot another squad?

I'm pretty sure he can, but not sure as i don't play eldar or play against them much. Id doom is a shooting attack then no he could not. But I'm pretty sure doom is not a shooting attack so he could doom something and have his squad shoot something else

The point is that the sorcerer in question lashed the unit closer for the entire unit of Noise Marines to shoot at while being joined to the unit. So my question stands: The joined character casts a power while the rest of the unit shoots. What gets resolved first? The Lash, putting the target unit in range of the Noisies, or the ones that fire are the ones that have range before the resolution of the Lash?

If Lash is not a PSA, then yes he can do that.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie.

Lash isn't a psa, as such he sorc can lash, then the unit can shoot the moved unit

AS above.

Lash isnt a Shooting power any longer (go figure) so you are simply restricted to resolving it in the shooting phase.

This can be before or after the unit shoots. Up to you.
