Frazzled wants to change foreign policy by stopping deployment of american troops, you seem to be arguing for the status quo.
My argument is that unless the underlying causes are corrected, the deployment overseas of US troops etc will remain necessary for the survival of US citizens. The likelihood of the US abandoning it's national interests is right up there with me suddenly shooting beams out of my eyes and donning a spandex outfit. 'The People' can demand that the US stop it's foreign adventures, have their entire military abandon every overseas posting, but at this point, the result of that would simply be the very thing they're afraid of, and the US' enemies coming there to fight.
Yes but I think there's a middle.
The US holds its bases in key locations, Italy, UK, SK, Japan, etc.
No more lybia, Iraq, and any missions are done by the rules of having a clear, thought out, plan of action and victory with the correct rescources and weapons from the start.
End the adventurism in stress take to a solid, but defensive position where the US holds the capability but not uses it all the time.

Not exactly true. Much of the tin used in US electronics used to come from mines in Somalia. They also produce a lot of other ores, and formerly were a hot tourist destination, but that went to hell in a handbasket.

That's just another day on the eastern front.
The campaign has taken 2 years.... 2 years to slowly drive back a enemy we seem to be fighting with a hand tied behind back.
Russians have the right idea and just get the job done.

All of the US allies in Syria are enemies of Assad, so it isn't surprising that Russia bombs them. Hell, the US allies routinely bomb each other. At this point the SDF hates the FSA far more than they hate Assad.

Russians have the right idea and just get the job done.
If they were hitting ISIS, sure. But they seem more concerned with bombing the US allies and killing civilians and then blaming it on Assad.
You have not exactly been following this conflict, have you?
Russia has been hitting ISIS a lot. Sure, they are also hitting every other faction opposed to Assad, but ISIS definitely is on the hit list too. In fact, at this very moment Russia is heavily involved in the battle for Palmyra against ISIS.
And it's how now Al-Quaeda-related terrorists so called?
Well, Al-Qaeda itself was an US ally once, so. We all know that the US has no problem with supporting terrorists as long as they serve US interests somehow.

Right?
This.
Did you know the Quran has a list of all the people Muhammed murdered? Did you also know that it states all non-Muslims are infidels, and that gay people should die, and ALL women are inferior and worse versions of men? Did you also know that 1700 ISIS members were just knowingly accepted into Europe?
Then you see all the LGBT's defending Islamophobia when Islam states they should die.
Even the spokesman for all Muslims in Canada and the USA said that Sharia Law was good and gay people should be executed.

Got a point...

Bad as he is., we need him to stay in power.

I'm not sure is info is all correct. Yesterday, 5000 ISIL members suddenly appeared near Palmyra (suddenly in desert? its not jungle!) and rushed into the center of the city. About thousand of them killed by intensive bombing, but 4000 entered to Palmyra and captured it. Rumors says they been moved from Mosul (but isn't there already hard fightings?). Now I give up trying to understeand things in Syria.

Again, I cannot say if info is correct. But some details: First wave included 1500 attackers and considered as a local ISIL units. Syrian army counterattacked with massive air support by Russian aircraft, resulting most of attackers were wiped or fleeing. But then army recieved order for immediate retreating from Palmyra. After that, another 4000 ISIL appeared out of nowhere, 300 of them were killed on airstrikes (until weather became bad and not allowed to continue), many killed by Syrian artillery. But ISILs quickly occupied Palmyra and even continued futhture advancing.
Yeah, army dropped many things. According to photos and videos, there are T-72 tanks, lots of artillery, ammunition, AT missles, "new-fashioned" BPM-97 armoured vehicles (actually, cheaper wartime-production analogue to BTR-80) and other stuff
upd: some analytics from internet chairborn experts:
The vehciles and some amount of troops were moved from Mosul, replaced by fake wooden vehicles for conspiracy. Another reserves were moved from Raqqa. And then bearded stayed at Deir-er-Zor. All movements were spotted by Russian-Syrian recons but did not resulted in counter-actions. Palmyra Syrian army stayed relaxed, no defensive positions were built for half year. And then gak happens
Automatically Appended Next Post: Two Turkish Leopard-2 tanks destroyed by IS beardeds
Despite being designed to be less exploding as possible, tanks were burned after missile hit
Another Leo-2 hit by missile earlier

Turksih troops taking casualties near Al-Bab-most casualties to date.
Clashes between Turkish-backed Syrian rebels and ISIL fighters have intensified around the northern Syrian town of Al-Bab, resulting in the deaths of 16 Turkish soldiers, the military's highest single-day toll of its four-month campaign inside the country.
Wednesday's battles, in which another 33 Turkish soldiers were wounded and 138 ISIL members were also killed, were some of the deadliest yet in Turkey's Euphrates Shield operation in northern Syria, according to the army.
"The operation to control Al-Bab, which is being besieged under the Euphrates Shield Operation, is ongoing," the army said in a statement.
The military had said earlier that rebel forces, which have been launching attacks on ISIL fighters in Al-Bab for weeks, had largely established control over the strategic area around the town's hospital.
"Once this area has been seized, Daesh's dominance of Al-Bab will to a large extent be broken," it said in an earlier statement on Wednesday, using an Arabic acronym for the group.
Aleppo victory
ISIL was using suicide bombers and vehicle-borne explosives intensively, the Turkish military said.
Turkey's military was pressing on with the operation after its foreign minister and his Russian and Iranian counterparts said in Moscow on Tuesday that they were ready to help broker a deal to end Syria's almost six-year-old war.
The talks came as Syrian government forces neared their biggest victory in the conflict, closing in on the last rebel enclave in the city of Aleppo.
About 30 Turkish soldiers have been killed in the course of Euphrates Shield, which was launched to push ISIL, or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group, and a Kurdish militia away from Syria's border with Turkey.
Turkish air strikes on Wednesday destroyed 67 ISIL targets, the military said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a UK-based war monitor, reported fierce clashes at the southwestern edges of Al-Bab, with some rebel advances there.
It said that Turkish air strikes in the area had killed seven people in Al-Bab and that 15 Turkish-backed rebels had been killed in fighting on Wednesday.
The Euphrates Shield operation is largely focused on combating ISIL, but Turkey is also determined to prevent the Kurdish YPG fighters, which it sees as a hostile force, from linking cantons it controls along the border.
