just exactly how do you get that light blue with the glowing effect? i tried enchanted blue but its waaaay too dark

It's just a few drybrushed layers. Regal Blue basecoat > Ultramarines Blue drybrush > Ice Blue drybrush > white edge highlights.

The technique is called OSL (object source lighting). Searching for that should net you more than a few tutorials, covering methods from drybrushing to glazing to airbrushing.

i was looking more for the color mix to get that nice glowy light plasma color, but found out on a OSL painting vid on youtube, so yeah, thanks!

ive painted this successfully, and its not nearly as vibrant as pictures indicate, i did mine with 3 colors (none are gw) i did it with a cobalt blue base on the coil with a white drybrush on the coil then paint the rest of the model and finish with a teal drybrush stroking away from the coil on the surrounding flesh and try to remember that light travels in straight lines, and most likely wouldnt send the "glow" down below the coil.
