So I'm curious how the Bretonian players have been doing since 8th edition came out. I've picked up a few things here and there like how the Bretonnian magic phase has gotten better as have Pegasus Knights with the Vanguard and Questing Knights now being S6.

And of course there is the fact that the Trebuchet is still S5(10) with no partials. I've always liked the idea of doing a peasant based army and it seems with 8th it would be alot more viable. So I'm just curious how you guys have faired since 8th came out?

Against me my friends bretts have not done all too well I don't think he really knows what he's doing and won't take advice which makes for a sorta lame game.

I am 47-3-1 W-D-L with mine. My FLGS competition isnt much though. I have been going with the fey enchantress in a large lance of knights. 2 busses of 50 pesants and plenty of 9-12 man knight units. It seems to work for me.

Brets can do pretty well. My friend runs a pretty good list at 2,000, though he hasn't played much, hence his 2-1-2 record. Still, it's a solid list.

Peasants armies are still kinda meh, IMHO, as you lack real hitting power, and you'll be hitting most things on 5's. Though Lore of Beasts is always fun with Peasants. Still, anything with WS 4 or higher would prove difficult, not to mention Chaos Warriors, or hell, even the new TK. Still, would be fun to try.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

They can be good but you cant make any mistakes. Generally they are not considered a good army because of the slight nerf to cavalry and steadfast.

I thoroughly enjoy these video battle reps of Brets by OnceBitten: http://www.youtube.com/user/OnceBitten360#p/u/0/hhjpxTfQmDk
Lots of videos and they are recent, really show off the tactics needed to win and this guy knows his stuff.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

I run a knight heavy list and have done well considering my main opponent is a skaven player who doesn't now what "play for fun" means

army wide S3 really hurts him, if I can survive the shooting I can usually stomp him in combat

We're watching you... scum.

Brets do fine when you play them right. But you must always remember two things.

First, Brets are a finesse army in 8E. They lack the capability to just charge in and slaughter everything. So you must take great care in you tactics and use every trick in the book.

Second, you are one mistake away from loosing, at all times, no matter how well the game has gone this far.

(Third: Even your tricked-out challenge lord is no match for a WOC combat hero. His champions will be rough enough.)
