Hello everyone,
I was experimenting with drybrushing blood red to give the metal effect on vehicles but the best I can get is an orange-ish colour rather than the bright red you normally see on Orks. Can someone reveal their techniques to accomplish this?

I would try to reverse the process, so start painting the panels/parts you want the red on red and drybrush or sponge the metal color over that afterwards.

I wouldn't do blood red, I would do mechrite, and then go over with blood red.

But would you drybrush from start or just paint red and then drybrush boltgun metal?

Depending on how much red you want on your vehicle, I would paint either the whole bodywork red or the panels/sections where you want the red to be on. So not drybrush, but as you would normally do a basecoat.
Then I would apply the metal color, preferable with a sponge, since I think it will turn out more realistically. (Will look like the red paint chipped off and shows the underlying metal).

I drybrush the whole vehicle boltgun then drybrush blood red over it until it reached the color I wanted. Then I came back and drybrushed the edges. I did it this way because I figured orks are sloppy painters and it looks pretty decent.

Your looted baneblade looks amazing but again you can see why I was complaining about getting orange. It still looks good but I expect a red paint jog to be more bright. Will try to find out what this sponge method is all about and give it a try.
Thank you all for the suggestions

I only highlight with blood red over a coat of mechrite then scab red for my orks. It turns out a lot less orangey.

Look up tutorials on painting blood angels/ravens.
It's usually something like this:
Prime white
Dark red base coat
With many thin layers of a brighter red layered on
At the very least try priming white

Great Baneblade Bat Manuel
I usually start in mechrite, then a thorough (not so dry) dry-brush in blood red (as Bat Manuel, I also can't picture orcs to provide a clean and even paintjob) and finish with sponged on boltgun for chipped paint effects.
