Hello everyone,

I started collecting orks almost a year ago but due to the lack of time my progress as been rather slow. Nonetheless I entered a tournament last month which required painted models (3 colours minimum) which helped me rushing through some of my hordes and made me paint 750pts in one go. For that reason I decided to start a Blog so I can get the support and demand to paint more and more which, hopefully, means I will be able to paint more. So far the plan is to paint a kan wall of 2000points. But I also already have models to do some variation and build a speed freak ork army and a unit of 15 kommandos. I will try to update this frequently starting tonight with the pictures of the work in progress.

Just a quick update. Undercoat with Vallejo grey primer

Need to start thinking how I am going to paint them. Just paint them like the boyz with air model rust and then gunmetal drybrush or go for a more complex looking rust with several tones of brow/orange. What do people think? It is worth it to spend more time on the rust even if it is gonna be covered by the red and just a few spots are gonna be visible?

Diablo III as been getting all my attention lately so not much progress has been done. The Killa Kans bits are all painted in rust metallic colour, followed by a drybrush of gun metal. I am now slowly washing the whole lot with devlan mud.
But I have been participating in a discussion about painting ork skin so decided to upload a more close up shots of my lootas and nobz. You can find the pictures below:

I like the reds and the weathering, I'm hoping when I come back to painting after a 10 year break I'll be able to pull something of this standard out the bag.

The skin tone on the looters arm is good, his hand is rather flat though.

I have to agree with the hands for some reason I don't seem to be able to pull good painting out of their hands. always end up being rather flat

You have done a great job at painting them, and I know what you mean, I get slowed when I started painting, but mine are less complete and I've been at it for 2 years

Oh, and my favorite is the converted buggie, looks brilliant!

These are some sexy orks, the green skin in particular is fantastic!

Ok so life got into the way of the hobby. Which meant I didn't managed to do anything in the last month or so. I am back to work though and managed to get back to work on the kans.
But there is still a long way to go on those so my update today is for a deff dread conversion. After seeing the buypainted tutorial on how to paint a deff dread I tried to come up with a funnier conversion and actually put an ork inside the dread.
My problem is that according to the rulebook the ork becomes completely attached to the dread and so I didn't want to put it visible. But I though he might have been able to recruit an gretchin to help with the direction so here is what I came up with:



It is only blue tac at the moment since I still need to clean some of the pieces I cut and make it look better. as usual comment and criticisms are more than welcome

Hi guys I know the blog as been pretty much death for the past few months. Since 6th edition came out and made kans useless I have put the ork army on hold. Although I just finished an 1850pts of BA I can play in 6th so it is time to give some love back to my orks. I am currently trying to decide exactly what I am going to take. I know I want some bikers so that is the only part that is decided so I am going with a speed freaks theme. After that though is still a mystery that I intend to solve by proxing a few games and see what works and what not.
