Simple question: Can Flash Gitz take any of their upgrades, more than once?
If I were to pay 10 points per model, could I have a Shootier, Shootier Git mob, with Assault 3?

Dang. Any particular reason, you think? Because that could be really fun, taking a 15 point upgrade to basically be AP3, or spend 300 points on 3 Gitz to have AP1, Str10 Assault 2 guns. That'd make them actually decent as a Heavy Support slot.

Thats why.
This little thing called game balance...
Flash Gitz need a boost, true, but that kind of shenanigan will end up with Marine terminators having 48 sets of lightning claws mounted on them and similar
|
The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Except that you can already buy 4 lightning claws for some Marine units- you just can't use all of them. There's a rule somewhere about not being able to use more CCWs than you have manipulatory limbs, or arms or whatever. But guns...
And you can't tell me that 300 points for just 6 non-blast, BS 2 Str. 10 AP 1 shots with no armour value is under-costed, either, especially as they only have a 24 inch range and Armour 4.
I might actually have to see if anyone at my FLGS would let me try that... Could be fun!

It's basically the same as with attack squigs - nothing prevents you from taking 100 per warboss, but you usually can buy each upgrade only once unless specified otherwise. Same for flash gits.

Not ignoring the rules, just trying to continue the discussion. What I posted after was a hypothetical, "if then" situation.
And an idea for a friendly game. I don't do tourneys usually.
I do find it interesting, however, that nobody's tried something like that before, taking more than one of an upgrade that's either single use, or that confers a non-weapon bonus.

More like individual wording shall apply.
If the upgrade says something of the effect to: "Models with (this upgrade) grant (X special rule/stat boost) to their unit"; then that upgrade, and thus it's benefit will stack(most special rules will, of course, grant no special benefit for having multiple copies of themselves; such as FNP or Stealth).
-But-
If the upgrades says something of the effect of: "A Unit including (this upgrade) gains/has (X special rule/stat boost)"; then no matter how many copies you have of the Item, the unit will only gain the benefits once(since it does not matter if it includes 1 or 20, so long as it is included).
The biggest reason why there is no point to purchasing each Snazzgun upgrade more than once is that they all set specific values, not just granting bonuses.
"More dakka" does not add 1 shot, it makes the gun Assault2.
"Shootier" does not add +1 S, it makes the gun S6
And "Blasta" snazzguns have a set effect of "gets hot" and a single -1 to the AP roll; it never says anything like -1/Blasta upgrade, the Blasta upgrade itself simply has a set effect; taking it twice does not double that effect.

while I agree with the sentiment games workshop doesn't with the exception of hammer hands every stackable power only works once from the same source (see IG Officer of the Fleet and Astropath, Nids Hive Commander). The only logic seems to be that you get the bonus if they say so or they're add at different times.

That is an interpretation based on coincidence, not an actual rule. If some rule adds one to anything, you have to add one, unless explicitly stated otherwise or the rule is worded to provide the same benefit, even if applied multiple times.

Actually, Kommisar, I just noticed that. Pity, though, since that might actually make Flash Gitz a useful Heavy Support Slot. And it would be nice to actually be able to have a STr. 10 or AP1 weapon.

No melta
Rokkits for Tankbustas that are either str 9 or tankbustas with tankhunters.
Something done with buggies.

In the case of flash gitz simply making them Twin linked would have been enough

Untrue, It doesn't stack if it states that it doesn't. Such as Enhance for Eldar. Hammerhand does not state that it stacks yet it does stack when you have more than one model that can cast it in the unit.

It does not have to specifically state that it does, or does not stack; it is all in how it is worded.
Evidence for why you are wrong: Waaagh banner(among a great number of other things) does not specify that it does not stack; and yet it does not.
