i really do not like ogryn models, is there anything i could use instead?

i would be tempted by space marines, however they are shorter and obviously very differently to ogryns, i need something that still shouts savage thickko, but not some guts of a man beast ideas dakka?

Ogre Bulls hands down, with some green stuff you can have fantastic looking ogryn in no time at all. One of my friends used ogre bulls and with a little green stuff they look better than the original ogryn I think. You also get 6 ogres for 40, so alot cheaper than buying the actual ogryn models.

Ogre Bulls and green stuff(but you better act fast. GW could repackage/price increase the Bulls whent he new book comes out in the fall)

I've seen Ogre Bulls being used; works really well; spare HWT bitz make for easy ripper guns.

Ogre bulls. A guy at my FLGS has a squad from the bulls, I think. I was planning a conversion to do that but got swept up by the allure of green tide.

Its tricky with IG, they cant have beast like substitutes because its heresy and all, so if you really dont want ogres, perhaps some mechanical walkers like Privateer press war jacks

Warmachine: Ogrun Assault Corps. Not 100% these are the right size, but they appear to be ogres with guns. $70 for 5 vs $22 for 1.

i think you may of misunderstood me some where along the lines, the reason i do not like the ogryns is because i dont like abhumans, this is why my ratlings are normal snipers, but giant fighting robot is much more appealing

In that case maybe buy Privateer press Grind. It's $25 it comes with 6 smallish jacks (ogryn proxy) and 4 heavy jacks (walker proxy maybe)

Buy Ogre Kingdoms models and convert them. This fits with the GW æsthetic, unlike some of the Pig Iron or Warmachine suggestions, and is substantially cheaper than buying the real Ogryn models. I believe that Ailaros had a guide to converting Ogryn from Ogre Bulls somewhere on these forums if you want to search that up-- and to me, that seems like an obvious, simple, and cost-effective route.

Just make sure you look at the box contents first to make sure you are getting what you want. I'm not sure what the assortment of arm options are. I've been toying with the idea of picking it up in the past at $60, now that it's only $25 during this PP sale I think I'm gonna pull the trigger.

Just use one of the bigger ones as the bone head maybe. The big ones might be too big as I think they are about dreadnought sized.

They are plastic and can be converted, if you look at the article you can see that the author changes their stances.
