I'm new to warhammer fantasy and am getting together with one of my buddies to use my High Elf army (mostly blood island minis) against his warriors of chaos. I am willing to go buy a few more miniatures between now and then. Does anyone have any pointers?

Well depending on the warrior/knight saturation you may have one of the few excuses to take Lore Of Metal. Honestly i paly both books and highelves eat WoC for breakfast. You get 10 Swordmasters from IoB, add 10-15 more and you can walk through a large chunk of his army barely loosing anything. One thing is WoC lords are dangerous and are hard to kill, so route the rest if you can and ignore the big nasty if he is a a combat Lord. If he is not you take your Lvl4 to his Lvl4 and crush him

Lore of metal such a pain haha I have managed to crush elf magic with my tz lord but still gah those just such a pain.

Nice fatty block of sword masters and ya that's going to hurt him a lot.

Watch out for the hellcannon if he takes one or more they are not nice.

If he goes wih chosen star and rolls well then you may have an I teresting grind on your hands.

Take a wizard for sure since even if you don't take metal it's still good to have a bt of help stopping his magic.

Well HE mages are the only ones who can truel counter MOT with our +1 to dispell

We get +1 to dispell? I thought we only got +1 to cast? But so far they have been the only ones to give me real trouble during magic.

High elves get plus one to dispell

I play both WOC and HE so this is hard to keep straight

No worries man but those HE anger good luck with the army.

White Lions and Sword Masters should do the trick as long as you can debuff them or buff yourself.

Lore of Light is great and will anoy your opponent when he needs 5s to hit you, you get an extra attack and most hit on 2s, wounding on 3s or 2s. Phas' is also a great spell as it make him -1 to hit.

Lore of Life helps with defensive buffs, making you T7, and regrowing your own men.

Lore of Metal is also great as it nerfs his armor save.
