Simple Question: If an Ork weirdboy teleports himself and his group as per the power (#5) on th chart I beleive, the unit moves to a location selected by the ork player and then arrives as per deepstrike rules (scatter and placement).

My question is this, can the boys be spread out around the Weird boy, putting space in between them and thereby making them less likely to be completely trounced by nearby template weapons?

Or do they have to stay in base to base contact?

I say no they can't move, because the only way regular deep striking units can spread out is by moving on their shooting phase, and since the unit has already made its action to shoot as per the weirboy rules, but my opponent says he thinks they should be able to.

They do the scatter, then shoot/run if you so desire. Standard deep strike rules apply.

While the power is used in the shooting phase Ere we go! is NOT a shooting attack. this means when the squad lands it can run or shoot

The Boyz have to be placed in base-contact around the Weirdboy, as per the standard Deep Strike rules.
