I was on the internet and read up about the Death Korp of Krieg and I loved their fluff. I wanted to play a DKK army, but there were a few problems. I already have an Elysian army, and their Army List isn't that good. I was contemplating this when we I remembered the Prosan 314th from the Codex. For those that don't remember, They combined a Catachan and Elysian Regiment to make a unit of air-dropping jungle fighters. So I got the idea to do a combined regiment. This is what I came up with.

The 812th Caelos was created as a result of the loss of several Elysian Drop Troop Regiments due to their inability to adequately defend a drop position for sustained periods of time. To remedy this, a few squads of Death Korp of Krieg Engineers were inducted into Elysian Regiments to train the Elysians in the art of fortication. With their new found entrenchment skills, the Guardsmen should be able to dig-in after they have taken an objective and survive for longer until a relief force arrives.

Anyone else come up with their own Regiments?

I don't play IG, but more people should be creating their own regiments. There's more justification for it than for most armies.

What kind of fluff do you have for your, "Fareldian 43rd?"

just a basic back story about how they where slaves under the dark Eldar but managed to over throw their oppressors with the help of a unit of Blood Angels, and how because of the friends and foes they've had they produce an unusually high amount of Psykers, and then 2 new characters that are based on marbo and al'raheim

Reposted from a thread from a while ago:

My IG come from a once fertile (loyalist) planet that was rendered dead by an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor who had a bomb detonated above the planet. This caused atmospheric effects resulting in the sun being blocked out in the name of stemming a Tyranid invasion. The rationale was that if the biomatter was wiped out, it would stunt their spread across the planet. As a result, the planet is now incapable of producing food, so it solely concentrates its effort on producing weapons and warmachines. They trade tanks and guns with nearby system planets in exchange for food.

I represent this army with lots of tanks, vendettas (representing what I consider the more advanced spectrum of the IG) and special/heavy weapons.

11th Praetorian Regiment "The Elevenses" wiped out during the siege of Lyracle Fortress where, during the regiments last stand against a horde of traitor guardsmen, mutants and chaos space marines, they detonated the fortress' nuclear stockpile wiping out not only the entire enemy force but also making the planet uninhabitable for the next 300 years.

The Distellian 113th Airbourne ( also known as the "Swift hounds") come from the planet system of Distellia, though the regiment has various individuals from other planets. Though the system produces various regiments of differing specialties (Mech, Artillery etc) the airbourne is what the system is known for. Distellia 1 is an earth like planet that has various environments and such making it an ideal place for civilians to live in. Distellia 2 is a forge world that produces vehicles and nuclear bombs for the various regiments and is powered by various

The regiment uses a lot Valkyries and Vendettas and equips all squads with either plasma or melta guns. Valkyries go deep behind Enemy lines and destroys them from the inside by taking out the ordinance and breaking the gunlines and other assets while the Mechanized regiments of the 147th Armored regiment with their tanks come and crush the enemies in.

Distellian 2, however, was overtaken by a daemon incursion which was initiated by the secretive but feral and large chaos tribes hiding in the jungles of Distellia 1 and the jungles of the largely unpopulated Distellia 3 and caused havoc on the industrial planet. As an alternative to an exterminatus, the planetary high command approved detonation of most of the nuclear stockpile as well the destabilization of the many nuclear power plants resulting in massive nuclear explosions that decimated the planet and its ecosystem. As a result, a nuclear winter overtook the entire forge world for many years and the rest of the system lost many of its assets.

The nuclear explosions though destructive, did not completely destroy the chaos threat as now various daemons and warp mutated mutants roam Distellia 2's scorched surfaces while the surviving human populations retreated to the great subway tunnels that has been around since the very beginning of the dark age of technology. However, hope wasn't lost as the airbourne with the help of the Space Wolves came in swiftly and liberated various areas that were once under chaos control with the 113th committing to the bulk of the combat. The heroic actions allowed for some resettlement of the surfaces but those settlements are mostly dedicated to the military bases and the few reconstructed factories and the majority of the human population still live in the tunnels(much like the game Metro 2033) where chaos daemons and mutants sometimes dwell as well in various parts.

(I'm still working on the backstory)

Serious Response:

I never said it was atomic. It could have been a chemical bomb with something designed to react to the atmosphere in such a way as to blot out the sun a la "The Matrix".

Fun Response:

Cause we're Americans. We practically have wet dreams about atomic weapons. We're nuts.

Well i needed to come up with something suitably explodey and since the fortress is supposed to be more or less a fortified armoury where they stick everything they don't use i figured nukes would fit nicely.
Other than that the Praetorians aren't suicidal... just British.

It's the IG command squad sniper cloak. I cut the arms off and put my own on it. Not a great GS job, but not bad for one of my first. Unfortunately the cloak still looks, as Ailaros put it, "as if someone stapled fabric to his back," but it's good enough until I have the time to dedicate doing some GS practice work.

5th Kalevan, nicknamed "The Amasec Auxiliaries", with elements from the Kalevan 8th "Macharian Thunder" artillery and the Kalevan 11th "Grot Feeders" air cavalry. The Kaleva system was inbetween the warfleets of Horus and Terra during the Heresy and after a relic-cannon of the Dark Age misfired most of the system got fethed up, with the remaining planet turning into a Death World with random weather (random as in a blizzard turning into a drought in 7 minutes...). The "Grot Feeders" got their nickname when they miscalculated and dropped most of the regiment into an Ork camp full of grots. The "Macharian Thunder" supported Macharius during the Macharian Crusade and the "Amasec Auxiliaries" have a tradition of using flame weapons, with the fuel doubling as booze. The few times that I feel like painting a guardsman I make sure that he's got a red-purpleish nose and looks really shabby...

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

My regiment is the Invictian 52nd, a mechanized regiment from Invictus, a Forge/Hive world that was the former capital of the sub-sector before a Tyranid splinter fleet's attack ruined it's industry and screwed up it's ecosystem (I have actually started a few short stories from the War for Invictus, none of them all that good). They have been combined with a infantry company from a yet unnamed dead world, similar to Krieg, who's regimental command structure and most of it's troops were destroyed in a failed assault the 52nd also took part in. They serve as my regular guardsmen (Wargames Factory greatcoats), with the Invictians (Cadian models) serving as the vets.

My regiment is the Amatolian 485th. Amatolia is a cold dry mining and manufacturing world located in Segmentum Obscuras. It was most recently settled by conquest by the Mordian Iron Guard ca 475M40. The local culture is still largely derived from the Mordian martial culture but most of the manufacturing facilities are of Cadian or Armageddon pattern. Life on Amatolia is strictly regimented from its mines and manufactoria down to its disproportionately large planetary defense forces. The governor's office has spent the last few generations intentionally overproducing regiments in an attempt to shift the planet to a more favorable tithe grade. In the tradition of their forbears Amatolian tactics favor disciplined mass fire. Amatolia's field artillery is the pride of its military forces but it does also tithe light and mechanised infantry. Amatolia's military culture isn't inclined towards tank warfare and in case the planet doesn't have a license to manufacture heavy tanks.

My Guard regiment was the PDF of my Space Marine Chapter Planet. The regiment is from Poli-Aima, a tundra planet with forests of firs, large cites and manufacturing plants. After half of the chapter went renegade, the planet was thrown into a civil war. Thait was the stronghold for the loyalist forces, and was soon surrounded by traitor marines, led by the old chapter master. The PDF stood toe to toe with chaos marines and fighting shoulder to shoulder with the loyalist forces. The loyalists triumphed after reinforcements arrived from a separate space marine chapter. The marine chapter, now the Sons of Gorgon, renamed after an Iron Hands dreadnought who sacrificed himself in the battle for Thait, was sent on a crusade to repent. That left the planet without a space marine chapter, and so was forced to tithe like all other imperial planets. The PDF became the Imperial Guard regiment for the planet, the survivors forming the Poli-Aima 1st. They specialize in infantry formations, demolition operations and siege warfare. The infantry uniform is bone white cloth and crimson armor, and the tanks are grey with red "tiger stripes".

The 88th Reagans ' Stolen Sons ' comprise of what's left of the remaining population of the Hive World Enduras. Once a loyalist community, nearby warp storms have caused a dramatic rise in psykers of the population, therefore, causing a high number of Primaris Pyskers in the company. Due to this, the dangers of psychic energy and warp rifts opening are very severe which in turn, require a high number of Comissars.

Once a whole native Enduric regiment, Chaos insurgency from the corruption of the warp ravaged their home worlds and as a last resort, all boys under the age of 20 were evacuated from the planet and drifted aimlessly into space before stumbling across the urban planet of Orgean. Combining the two regiments, the 88th Reagans took back the world of Enduras only to find that their brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers had perished. Vengeful, the Endurians and the Orgeans vow to hunt down the Chaos insurgents responsible for this act of violence and slaughter.

I have two

The Inquisitor's Redemption Regiment: An allied detachment for my SM chapter the Scions of Gnosis, the Inquisitor's Redemption is made up of soldiers from all over that for whatever reason got kicked out of their own regiment for things that didn't warrant immediate execution (Think Penal Legions). The Scions fleet happened to be wandering through at the right moment and the Inquisitors on board decided to take the delinquents to use as cannonfodder for the constantly undermanned Scions chapter (due to this incident).

The second is the 20th Hydra Regiment, which as you can probably guess is an Alpha Legion based traitor regiment. Over the years, the Alpha Legion would sneak in and whisper sweet nothings in the ears of sleeping children, turning them into sleeper agents. When the Alpha Legion flipped the switch, the entire regiment instantly fell under their control. Since the Alpha Legion isn't interested in devolving people into rabbling killers or sacks of decaying meat, the regiment can actually operate as a normal Imperial Guard regiment, albeit one based much more heavily on stealth and shock tactics (Stormtroopers with Infiltrate, everything has camo cloaks, etc).

My IG is the 296 mixed mission unit. I have a mix of Cadians and Catachans with a variety of vehicles. It is a mix of foot sloggers, fliers, walkers and armour. They are all pulled together from many different units from various campaigns across the galaxy. 10 survived here, added to this unit, lost others, added to another etc etc. I can pretty much build to any style of mission.

Vargas 1st Martyr's basically a heavy foot brigade lots of troops and conscripts backed by Griffons a Colossus some Sentinals and a few Russes not a Chimera in sight led by a grumpy old Field Marshal Who will never surrender or retreat as long as he has enough men planets will fall. Almost a IG who are crazy with Imperial Zeal and are willing to die on the field facing the enemy then dying with there backs turned on the Emp of Men ( every platoon has a priest and commissar) Mostly a Arid planet used for minerals and such Hive cities under the ground due to radiation storms and heat levels during certain seasons. Red white and tan scheme on cadian models try to give each platoon a different shoulder motif one all checker board with a v on the other side the other a half and half with the v on the other side and conscripts dressed in all white ...Tan Mostly Desert Scheme on tanks some are still just primed brown.

Largest Current Threats A Nurgle Renegade Marine Cell but that has been halted for now...A Splinter Tyranid Fleet has been seen on one of our two moons ....And Investigation By Dark Angels reasons unknown combat to ensue on this Sunday
