Can anyone point me to the rationale/propaganda as to why GW is moving to finecast?

I don't want a flame session here, nor pontification on the relative value of said move, just wanting to know why this fundamental shift. I seemed to have missed this information on the news feed due to the tinfoil hat I wear to keep me from purchasing too many models.

So you're posting a "stupid question on finecast" in the news and rumors forum? This sounds like neither for something that happened 6 weeks ago.

Now play nice! That isn't very helpful.

This would probably be better suited in Dakka Discussion, contact a mod to try and get it moved.

It's supposedly a cost-saving measure. GW is removing metal from their ranges to avoid the volatility of the price of the various metals that go into their figs. By switching to a resin/plastic hybrid, they can afford to sell their models for less, goes the official story. Whether or not that will translate to actual savings for us, the consumers, remains to be seen.

EDIT: I second the notion to move this to Discussion.

Answer: Metal is too expensive.

Also, yes, should be moved to discussions.

Indeed.

There are, I think..... one or two....Finecast threads around the site, a perusal of them might well furnish you with the relevant lnowledge you seek, as would of course ( perhaps) a visit to the GW site where you can read what they have to say about this.

We do indeed prefer it if users refrain from using the news and rumours board to ask questions, if one really has a genuine, burning need to do so then the relevant " ..general" or dakka discussions board would be a better place to do so.

Ta.
