I want to field a unit of reavers in my Dark Eldar army. The only problem is that I do not know what to give them. I have a couple of questions regarding the matter.
1. I want them to have the arena champion (mostly to make him/her look good) but I was wondering if there was any point giving him a power weapon?
2. Which one is a better weapon choice, heat lance or the blaster?
3. Cluster caltrops sound fun but are they any good?
I would appreciate any insight to these questions. Thank you in advance.

I shall rule the world someday utilizing my cuteness. And I already have one minion to help me do it!

Of course it makes sense. When there are a bunch of BDSM clowns doing Olympic gymnast routines throughout your unit, while also cutting off heads, you tend to get a bit distracted.

If you wanted to have an arena champion I would give him an agoniser.

I believe that the Heat Lance is better.

I think that cluster caltrops are a good upgrade but, very expensive.
I would appreciate any insight to these questions. Thank you in advance.

I'd recommend Thor's article in the Articles section for any and all DE advice. Also, there's an existing topic in the tactics section discussing Reavers.
Personally, AFAIK A squad of 6 with 2 heat lances is good for blowing up tanks and running over infantry squads. Regarding the other questions, I doubt a PW is worth it as you want them to not really be in assault.
Caltrops are hit and miss I expect, best to try it!
Good luck.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Caltrops are really good, but IMHO to expensive if you are also buying guns for the unit.

When I run Reavers (6) I give them both HL and caltrops. This gives them both an AT and AI role.
I know they are not considered tournament effective, but they have an esoteric value as they always affect how my opponent deploys and plays.
