So those of you who read my post about woc or O&G know that i am playing in a campaign and if i dont like my orcs(which i dont think i will) then i am selling them and buying a different army, and i have narrowed it down to two armies Woc and Vc and i was just hoping you guys could give me some pros and cons of both armies, like one thing is, in our campaign i think there are 8 people(might be more) playing woc and nobody is playing vc, also, my friend who i play almost every weekend plays woc, and like 20 or 30 people locally play woc and only 2 play vc(maybe 3), but anyway i was wondering what some pros and cons for each army were

VC:

+Characters (basic Vamps are S5 I5)
+Unbreakable units
-Magic isn't that reliable
-Characters are god expensive
-Low toughness, low armor saves
-Unstable

In terms of strength WoC are definitely more solid.

Thanks, i know woc are a better army than VC, well in some ways and if i am playing competitively, but i play for fun, so are Woc better than vc for playing for fun?

I would go with WoC,fun goes away quickly when your unstable VC units and those with low saves start to disappear from the board.

Something i was considering was get a woc army, then get a contingent of vc like it says you can do in storm of magic, just a thought, would give me some really cheap soldiers(skeletons and zombies from vc), along with the elite warriors of chaos, just a thought

Dang, are VCs really that crippled? Im debating starting up a TK or VC army, but this is making it seem like VCs aren't even remotely viable xD

Woc are awesome they are strong good armor etc they live large and kick @$$ so much fun lords are so amazing so fun and so funny.

Vc meh if you want undead go with tk

Idk about WoC being uber better than vamp lords, just saying you can kit a vamp lord out really nasty, and while overall the vampire army is not elite, build a proper lord that doesnt get killed (yes you have to be a little careful with him) and there is no such thing as a lost battle of atrition for you!

also I KNOW that none of you are saying blood kinghts arent elite yes its alot of eggs in one basket but you get a little vamp with forbidedn lore light and cast bironas on them all of a sudden you have M16 S7 (on the charge) 4 atks at always strike first per knight!, thats buh bye just about anything it hits

its hard to say wich army is flat out better in my opinion becaus ein reality they are two COMPLETELY seperate armies, if you want a more elite force id say go WoC but i think variety wise VC have that, with all their silly spirits and wights n what have you lol

the vamp lord isnt fragile by any meens but you do have to tread lightly, b.c the lucky goblin who shanks him in the gonads, is bad news bears lol

I'm just saying woc you can mess around with more and you can throw a chaos lord into the thick of it and he will lay down the law haha.

The models for woc are more fun and look better not a fan of the skeles and gouls etc I like te camps and blood knights and the grave guard are nt bad but woc models interested me a lo more that and several people play vc and I didn't want to do the same thing as too many other people.

Well, i played in a tournament a few weeks ago, and there were two vc players, i was able to beat the first one, but it was very very close, and i was only able to beat him because i am pretty good(defiantly not as good as my next opponent he was great still have a long way to go before im as good as him) with my high elves, my next opponent slaughtered me, his VC were amazing, he destroyed my entire army(pretty much) his vampire lord was insanely powerful(he killed all my phoenix guard, and my mage, by himself, plus around 15 seaguard!, and his normal vampires were dominating one of them took down my Prince who had a 2+ re-roll able armour save followed by a 4+ ward, and he also killed my star dragon, he did all that by himself!)
His grave guard killed all my sword masters, and a one of my big blocks of seaguard
So i think if you know how to play them they are an awesome army!
But i did like being able to charge my Chaos lord of khorne on a juggernaut into my friends dreadlord(dark elves) and kill him without taking any damage, and how my 10 warriors could take of 30 of his and win only taking a few casualties
So hard to choose...

I play borth armies and although WOC is a very competitive army. Vampire Counts are doing remarkably well in 8th.

Both armies are very strong. They both have a different play style and one of the best figs fantasy has to offer. I would say if your a fluff guy read up on the lore . That may sway your choice.

Vampires are prett nasty and built right those grave guard
don't die then again built right and your chosen don't die either haha.

The fluff is great for both go which modls yo like the best because you have to deal with hem haha.

Holy crap there's 4 vc players in the top ten, and one of them is in second place!!!!

I dont know, its tough i really like both armies, i have two unopened boxes of skeleton warriors(the new ones) i think i will assemble one and see if i like it

I really like both armies, but i think i am going to go with the vampire counts, they are completely different from all my other armies, and i really like the background and story and the the models, but i think i will play a game against my friend proxying some of my he and gobbos as vc stuff, then another with my lizards proxyed as woc, and decide which i like more

Also i assembled a couple of the skeltons and in my opion they are awesome!

The Vampire Counts Skeletons, like their other 7th edition models, are awesome.

Unfortunately, they also cost a lot for units you'll need a lot of.
