*bursts though room with axe* HEEEAAARRRS JHONNY!!!

Hi all i have been playing against my friend (for 4 years) who plays nids and during that thime i have only won him once...

shocking isn't it

i will tell you what he has usually in his army because i need help coming along:

hive tyrant with old adversary leech essence and a retinue of 3 tyrant guards

Lictor with flesh hooks

2 maxed out squads of genestealers with a brood lord.

3 squads of tyranid warriors with scything talons

carnafex (cant remember what upgrades he has but its usually a close combat monster)

sometimes a trygon prime.

and a CRASSIUS ASSAULT ARMOURED TRANSPORT (lol)

any help would be appreciated with the highest impotence (in other words cheers)

Pretty sure that doesn't mean what you think it means...I'd go look up "impotence" again if I were you. Also, Chaos Marines or Chaos Daemons? Different armies completely. Also, are you trying to build a list JUST to beat him? If you have marines, take 3 vindicators and lash whip slaanesh princes. If you have daemons, make sure there are flamers of tzeentch in there. Those staples in your armies will win you the game (most of the time) with a pretty much "point and click" setup.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

cheers for the advice.

While that DP set up is good (I usually run one like it), its built especially for CC, which is what Nids excell at. And if you get within a foot of his synapse creatures you need to roll 3D6 and probably suffer from perils. You SHOULD run lash, cause they have no transports and it has a 24" range. So you'll be able to keep them at a distance.

Anyways, it might help to know what your army usually is. Then we can see where you're lacking, cause right now most people will just say shoot them, cause um...thats the best way to kill them.

Check online tactica about that Fzorgle (Lash) prince of Slaanesh. The lash can pin your opponents troops and pull them out of cover. VERY useful against nids who have no invulnerable saves and weak armor, relying on cover. The Slaanesh Prince will hamstring his army if used in combination with the vindicators. Also, suicide terminator squads with heavy flamers should do the trick too. At least give it a quick try. If you usually take the Nurgle Prince and you aren't winning with him, it might be time to try someone else. The Slaanesh one is great and is actually the one taken in the main meta-game list, which usually includes the following:

Slaanesh Prince x2 with wings, and lash
plague marines with 2 meltas in a rhino with combi-melta
3 squads of 2-3 obliterators.

Fill out the rest as you see fit, but this list gives you weapons for any situation, 2 princes to pull your opponents troops wherever you want, and solid troop choices that aren't moving off their target. That's the main list I see people winning with.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

He dosn't have hordes only his genestealers are hoards

And i usually feild a land raider with five termies all equiped with campion and pairs of lightning claws (25 attack is all i have to say )

Sorry if i have been hard on the slannesh thing i just dont like the thought of hardcore good/evil marines in pink power armour.

Anything to deal with the tyrant and his retinue of 3 tyrant guard?

Again, the obliterators are remarkably adept as most things, the lascannons should be able to deal with the warriors from a distance. The land raider isn't a bad idea, as 'nids do have trouble with vehicles.

Lash, Lash, and Lash. I've kept a Trygon out of combat for an entire game with one lash, i've done the same w/ Biker Nobz. Oblits will help alot, Lascannons, Plasma Cannon, and twin-linked Plasma Guns, nuff' said.

Who says they have to be pink? My Daemon Prince of Slaanesh has black and gold armor with a Space Wolf Grey skinned Keeper of Secrets head, glossed-magenta claws, pegasus wings, and he looks BEYOND B.A. on the table. Quite proud of him. I also have a friend who painted his noise marines with a light, bright blue instead of pink and they were awesome. You don't NEED pink. Go with a scheme that makes you happy. Actually, Tzeentch daemons are usually the ones with pink skin-Slaanesh is pale. Armor...well, that's up to you. Black makes great Slaanesh armor though-just make it look ornate.

They don't have to be black, but mine are garishly pink to make them look evil in an odd sense. Pink is cool...

Well, i know what you field...coz...we play together

And to be honest mate, i'd keep everything, in a gunline, have your Defiller shred anything that starts on the field, and when his genestealers outflank, they cant assault yet, so turn your Battle Cannon straight on them.

As for his Hive Tyrant, i find that enough bullets, and something will give, just be careful about getting into rapid fire range, cos he'll be able to charge you, and we all knows what happens when a Hive Tyrant, fully upgraded, charges a group of Marines :/

Actually, genestealers can assault after their outflank move. The only good way to deny them is to make sure you're more than 18" from the board edge.

Pack a defiler or two.
They are nice and cheap, have a big blast template and are pretty good in CC.
If you get swamped by the little ones, they won't be likely to hurt the Defiler, and the bigger Nids won't be able to get through the mob, leaving them open for longer.

I love the way you've totally flailed at your home language, asked an online forum for help against a friend who you've fought for 4 years and beaten once, and after the first piece of advice given you bust out "no no no you give princes this! I know! Look at my record! wait a minute..."

What tournament? Find that guy, slap him, give him a copy of the rulebook and tell him to read it before being an umpire in a tournament!

Now, If we could know what you have, it would help us help you, as all we know you have at the moment is a landraider, 5 LC terminators and a prince. What troops are you using? have you mech'd up? what is your play style?

I agree. Outflanking is the same as coming in from reserve and walking on the board from your own table edge. You can move 6 on from the edge, fleet, and then assault 6. Potenially getting a unit 18" in from either side of the board.

One of the guys I used to play with used a similar army, minus the lictor and the broodlord. I found Plague marines more than capable of surviving tyranid attacks, plus if you give em Nurgle's rot you can get some free kills. A Daemon prince with the plague sword can potentially cause instant death, which will be handy with the carnifex and the tyranid command.

This info may not be accurate as my tyranid and chaos codexes are 1 edition behind.

As previously stated, slaanesh works well against nids. I like running noise marines with sonic blasters, but most people just run standard CSM with IoS. I'd recommend a flamer for good measure. The +1 initiative from IoS works well against nides becasue when, not if, those genestealers assault you, you'll be striking simultaneously and not after half of your unit gets wiped out.
